Collectible Glassware from the 40's 50's 60's by Gene Florence (1997, Hardcover)

This book is a must have for glass collectors. It effectively fills in the missing pieces of the 40s, 50s and 60s glassware that is left out of the ever prevalent depression glass guides. It has beautiful photography that allows for easy identification of glass patterns and entertaining and informative descriptions by the author.

I would recommend this book to everyone who goes to Garage Sales, Estate Sales, or auctions. It is very nicely illustrated book and I think that after I have studied it for a while, I will be able to know a lot about different glassware. I was ill when I first looked at the pictures and seen two glass pitchers that I recently picked up and put down at a garage sale. One of them was worth almost $200.00 and the other one was worth almost $250.00. I could have bought them for $5.00 each and made a couple hundred dollars selling them on ebay. Yes, I think everyone should have one of this books if they go to different kinds of sales. I will know enough never to put things like these pitches back down again. What a quick and sizable profit that would have been. It is not only nicely illustrated, but it also has the monetary value of each item as well.
