Recounting the senseless murder of a family of four in the American heartland and the ensuing case up until the death penalty was meted out to the murderers, Capote practically created a new genre of literature that is sometimes referred to as the "jounalistic novel." A true story, told as a gripping tale with incredible character build up that Capote is so good at, this book is chilling and absorbing.
