Coin Collecting for Kids

When I came across this book, I was looking for a book for my nine year old that would introduce him to coin collecting. I was very pleased that this book not only informed him of many interesting and fun facts about coins; but also had the slots to put the coins in as well. This is a great book for people that do not know anything about coins. The book was published in 2000, and has the spaces to collect all 50 statehood quarters. Also it has the spaces to collect the coins for your birth year, pennies from 1960 to 2000, oldest finds and a millenium money tree which will hold coins from the year 2000.
Problems I had with the book:
If you are looking to fill all of the spaces, you will find that not only a lot of time, but a lot of money will be required. At first glance I thought it would be simple, but we really had to search hard to find some of these coins. The second thing I was very dissapointed with were the slots. It is VERY hard to get some of the coins to stay in the slots. We actually had to pry many of them in there and I actually taped some in. If you are looking to not touch a valuable coin, I would stay away from putting your more expensive ones in there.
Overall opinion:
Despite a few negatives, the positives greatly outweigh them. I would greatly recommend this book as a fun and and informational project not only for the kids, but the parents as well.
