Boring Coffee & Nonsense Kung Fu

If you want a light-hearted read to settle in with and enjoy to take you away from your daily grind and pick this up, seek another book. If you take a look at the cute cover and the "If you liked the Nanny Diaries, you'll love this!" review, and think, "this may be really good," you have made a serious mistake.
The narrator is Nicci. She is annoyingly broody and wishy-washy. She meets a successful, handsome, great-in-the-sack man who actually wants to marry her, but doesn't like him-basically-because he wears Italian loafers. You really wonder why this man even wants to marry Nicci. But Nicci has her sights on an equally broody and annoying man.
Nicci has an unnatural hatred for Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, also, and Pretty Woman is one of my favorite movies of all time. What is this woman's problem?
The author just tries too hard and manages to spew nonsense about Jackie Chan the whole time. Oh, and she's so liberal the book leans to the left while you read it.
I loved the Nanny Diaries. I did not like this.
I am just glad it was a library book and I can return it--and all I wasted was my time.
