Synopsis A young investment banker named Edward Wozny becomes involved in a bizarre situation when he finds that a pair of clients--a fabulously wealthy duke and duchess--hire him to catalog their long-neglected library of rare books. The plot gradually zeroes in on one of those books: a rare and elusive medieval text that may or may not exist. Along with an obsessive graduate student named Margaret, Edward delves deeply into the library and its mysteries, and in the process finds strange and intriguing parallels with a computer game he is introduced to by a friend.
