Coby DVD-209 DVD Player

I like this DVD player because of the price. It's cheaper than most of the DVD player I see on ebay. However, it works well for me, a bit slow but well. It can play all of the formats that you can throw at it. Many of the expensive brands have copy right protection software to damage you disks but this one seems OK. Just remember, you often get what you're paying for. There is no way around it.

The item I bid on was supposed to be a portable dvd player for my mother, as a gift. The heading stated PORTABLE, and with that being said, when talking about dvd players, portable is understood to have a built in screen. No where in the description did they say it didn't have one. When i received the item (cheap quality at that) I was very disappointed. I emailed the seller and said it was not what i wanted, but they are very adamant about not refunding. I asked if I could do an exchange for what I had wanted and pay the difference in cost. They said that was ok, and told me to give then a list of prices I'd like. Figuring that they are Coby Wholesalers, as they like to tell you, I thought their prices should be at least somewhat of a discount. They began to ignore my messages after that first email, and getting a response took weeks and did not even answer my questions. They are very disorganized and don't communicate at all. When they finally sent the price list, I was shocked..their prices were double what you could get the products for. At this point I just did not want to deal with them and their horrible service, so I wrote them and told them so. Of course they disagreed, but they don't care as long as they've made a sale. So now, I'm stuck with the item that I can't even resell. I had read some of their customer ratings, but the item i bid on didn't have any reviews yet. When I went back and looked at the ratings a month later, I saw other people having the same problems and getting scammed out of their money. I find it very sad that there are so many dishonest people today, and I definitely think twice about buying on ebay from now on (and find that I prefer not to use it).

I NEEDED A DVD PLAYER AND WAS SO HAPPY WITH IT...IT PLAYS A VERY CLEAR PICTURE AND I AM EXTREMELY SATISFIED WITH IT..

Very small portable dvd player,you can carry everywhere, no region code, it can work beetween 110-220V and PAL system TV, I love it, I recommended the player for is looking cheap and portable player.

I bought the Coby DVD-209 DVD Player on the recommendation of my daughter whom has had hers for some time.

I do like the compact size of this item. But not the ease of use. The item will not play a DVD of any type. I have tried to follow the instruction manual to make neccessary adjustments but even that is not so easy to do. This item is not user freindly.

I bought this dvd first beause is multizone and second because the price is cheap works good and i dont need more than that the size is small and simple

When putting the feature of other language the translation is way in advance of the person speaking in the movie.

I bought this product because it was suppose to be region free. Meaning it will play dvd's from any where in the world. I wanted to buy "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" By Allen Carr. This dvd is not available to the USA yet. I've read the book of the same title, but knew I wanted the back-up of a dvd to help myself stop smoking. I searched for a dvd player to play this dvd, but was disappointed when it gave me an error code stating that it could not play this dvd because of a region code error. I found a way to play the dvd on my computer, but am stuck with a dvd player that is not region free.

This compact little machine does a great job, good picture and clarity and was very easy to hook up, it saved us so much room in an already cramped area that we considered buying another for the living room. We'd had one of the big dvd players along with our cable box and other stuff and the space was looking like electronic torture room. We are very pleased with the Colby and recommend it to everyone.

I use this DVD player in my car for long road trips. It is mounted on my back deck with Velcro it does not skip. And the remote can still be used.

This DVD player is perfect for situations where you need a mobile unit. It is easy to move from one location to another. The remote is very easy to use and understand especially for children.

We were looking for a DVD Player that plays all regions....This is the one that we looking for..
Size is perfect... Now we can watch all our DVDs.

Whimpy communication from imitation seller. No item was received. On a good note, some lucky ebayer still gets to sell me a DVD player.

decided to buy it cause we were looking to buy another one and liked the price and most of all liked the size of it.

I couldn't get it to work on my tv so my daughter sold it for me. It was really cute and I was hoping it would work but it wouldn't. I think I needed another piece to set it up on my tv.

This is a very good, inexpensive, portable dvd player. You will need to make a trip to Radio Shack, as it doesn't come with a power cord!

I bought it for a birthday gift for my grandson June 15, afterthat I could tell you more about it. I looked at it in the box and it looked fine to me. It was sealed in plastic wrap so I didn't want to break seal. It appears to be nice dvd player. My grandson is going to be 14 so It will keep him busy watching movies.

The item I purchased was not what I thought it was. I tried to get a return item authorization from the seller. and all I get is referals. No way to go to a direct stright RMA form for the buyer to complete and use to return the item. Complexidy is impossible for average individual to utilize. No way to contact the seller directly. VERY POOR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM BY THE SELLER.

this portable DVD player is very compact, and is versitale whether you use it at home or in the camper at the lake, i would reccommend this player to anyone! and the price is reasonable as well, all and all this was a great purchase for me, and hope it is for you too!

It is a nice compact player and easy to use,cheap cost for a good product and well known around our area. The ease of the hook ups was unbelievably wonderful as a grandma I can be assured I can put any CD in and it will play all the way from Barney to Flicka.
