Cobra Speed LD F Driver Golf Club

If you can get past the awful sound it makes you will probably be amazed by the distance and accuracy obtained. Visually a shocker....Huge is an understatement.
I played a nine hole course, (an excellent course), the first day after I got it and hit every fairway.
Two holes, 300 yard and 280 yard par fours were driven. Not bad for a 63 year old 7 handicapper. If nothing else it should be fun when you scare the guys on the tee with the sound of an aluminum bat hitting a softball.

Recently obtained the 10.5 degree LD F-Speed, graphite regular flex. While hugely forgiving, this beast is the longest driver I've ever hit. I was getting around 220-240 yards with another brand 2006 model 460 cc driver, but now I routinely reach 250-270 yards. Compared with the 2007 Callaway Big Bertha 460 it hits longer with slightly better consistency. I didn't notice a draw bias like some of the latest drivers, but that might just be my swing. The LD is great for low, boring drives despite the 10.5 loft. Even on mis-hits you'll still be in or near the fairway. Awesome club!

If you read the reviews you'll see many mentions of the odd sound that this driver makes at impact. It sounds like you're hitting an empty beer can. No joke. People on the driving range will turn around to see what you're hitting, but when they see you bombing drives to the back of the range they'll want one too. Great job by Cobra in designing a big hitter for us mid-to-high handicappers.

Heard about this club from friends and golf digest. Decided to try it and I was amazed and the extra 15-20 yards I was getting. I've finally found the driver I was looking for. Can't wait to hit it again!

Whats not to like - Same club in a local golf shop was $100 more. The quality,cost and delivery lived up to the promises made.

Was a little apprehensive about purchase as I have always used Callaway or Taylormade. This driver is without a doubt the longest off the Tee I have ever hit. Keeps the ball in play on mishits, not too high and gets plenty of roll.

I have tried this driver before at the driving range.. the sound is hard live with but the distance this club gives me makes up for it.. I play an offset driver as well which give me the draw i want when i need it but for bombing away on a long open hole this club does it all.. got a great deal on it too!!!!!

I play to a 7 handicap and have tried just about everything out there. For me a good driver is a good driver... A great swing is much more important. That said, this driver is just as hot off the face as anything I've tried with a .83 COR. If you get one of these with a quality shaft, you will be happy... If you're not, maybe you need lessons not a new driver.

Great buy on an excellent product, paid a fraction of the price for a nearly perfect driver. Only a couple of scuffs on the bottom of the club, everything else looks brand new.

I have an illness: I can't stop buying drivers on eBay. If I see a great deal I can't help myself. I'm really sick. No kidding. I've bought a bunch of Titleists, Pings, Cobras, Taylor-Mades, you name it. I'm too embarrassed to tell you how many I've bought over the years. I wait a year+ for those new $399 drivers to sell used for around $100 and I scarf one up. If I like the newly purchased club better than what's in my bag then it becomes my new driver. This process was all going along just fine until I bought a Cobra Speed LD two+ years ago. Now, no matter what I buy, the Cobra ends-up staying in my bag. It's stuck there. Nothing I've bought since can beat it, and believe me I've tried. It did leave my bag for about a month once when my son, who is on his school's golf team, tried it out then promptly stole it, forcing me to play with a different driver. After two rounds I bought another Speed LD on eBay. I had no choice. So what's so good about a Speed LD? When the club head contacts the ball it gives me that buttery feeling, like I've just hit the exact sweet spot and the ball has just taken off at the speed of sound. It's so consistent, I guess the sweet spot must be enormous. In comparison it makes all other drivers seem like their head is cracked and this has really screwed up my new driver culling process. It's even got me feeling like an idiot now every time I buy a new (used) driver, because the new purchase ends up being in vain. In fact, if I had any cotrol over my addiction to trying new drivers then I'd stop, because the enjoyment is essentially gone. If, like me, you like switching drivers often, then don't buy a Speed LD. It ruins everything.

This is the best driver I have ever had in my hands. It makes a very, very loud sound when hit squarely in the face. I have had Titleist, Callaway, Taylormade, Cleveland and many off-brand drivers that can not compete with this driver. The stock shaft, a 55 gram, stiff flex is just a tiny bit light for me. I've had 3 of these just so I can have different shafts. My favorite is the Aldila green NV 65 gram stiff shaft. The 2008 version of this club is good but not quite the same. I have a bad slice but after using this for a week or two, I was able to control it much better. I can hit this about 270 yds, everything else about 230. Try this club and tee it high.

I switched to this club in 2007. Once you get past the fact it sounds like a little league baseball bat, it is the perfect driver. Since the advent of 460cc technology I have owned or demo'd Callaway, Taylor Made, and Ping. While they all have strengths and weaknesses, this Cobra outshines them all. The largest sweetspot, most forgiving off the toe, most forgiving off a "pop-up" and most of all its long. I have played Nike One Black, and Titleist Pro V1x, with it. Compaired to the X460, R7 Dual, Tour Burner, Ping G2 G5 and Rapture, its 8-10 yards longer consistantly. With a toe miss hit its 15-25 yards longer and the dual rhombus face corrects the ball flight. I dropped my handicap 4 strokes to an 8 after purchasing. I could not recommend a club more. 10 of 10 A++

The shaft on this model is a good match for my swing. I have this model in a 3 and 5 wood which are working pretty well considering the trouble I manage to get my self in off the tee.

Great driver. Long and straight, easy to hit... Sets up nicely and looks great at address. Smooth action, promotes a draw ball flight. Will add 25 yards to your tee shot and keep you in the fairway

this driver is awesome! easy 20-30 yards longer than my taylor made 540. reco to all golfers. tee it a bit higher and let it rip.
