Cobra SS Hyper Steel Fairway Wood Golf Club

Can't say enough about this model of fairway wood. I used to use another brand with the original miraging steel face, but this club has got to be head and shoulders above any club designed previously. Excellent head design- the reason I chose this model over anything else on the market.

The balance of the club is exceptional. It feels like a much lighter club than it actually is. Performance is outstanding. The ball just flies and flies after being struck. I have actuallly hit this club as far as I usually hit my driver. It's mind boggling.

The down side for me, is that I misordered the shaft stiffness. I should use the next softer shaft. Don't get me wrong, as it stands now, this club out performs any fairway wood I've used or tried since the metal wood came into existance. I am not a willing changer of equipment. Didn't buy a metal wood until 1987. Loved the original Taylor Made Tour Spoon. Used that until 1998. Traded that with other clubs to get my wife started 4 years ago. Don't miss it at all.

My wife talked me into trying the Cobra woods after buying hers and getting great results for a rank novice. I did and I am sold. It will take a lot to get me to trade this golf instrument for a very long time.

I have the offset 3,5,7 in Regular flex shafts. The offset gives you ample time to square the face. So much time that I now hit a strong draw on most shots. I'd like to move into SZ hyper steel's without an offset. The face on both cobra models are radiused which corrects mis struck shots. If a shot is struck on the toe then it will hook but the radiused design makes the toe open relative to the sweet spot. The opposite is true of heel struck shots. The weighted head is generally about the same as everything else of the market. Low and Depth weighting for high ball flight. The cobra really gets the ball airborne because the R flex shaft is a little whippy compared to most R flex shafts. The kickpoint is also low so getting a solid chunk of distance depends more on tempo than clubhead speed. If you initiate your downswing too fast than your ball flight will be very high robbing you of some precious distance. But a nice smooth swing will give 200+ on the 3 wood off the turf. I haven't noticed a great deal of difference between distance's of the 3 wood and the 5 wood. 3 wood is a little harder to get airborne but both have the same ball flight and about the same distance. I've decided to get a Cobra SZ 3 wood and a 7 wood. That should cover my fairway artillery pretty well.
In summary, Cobra woods are very forgiving because of the radiused face and relatively light flex on regular shafts. Low kick shaft and low and back clubhead weighting really get the ball airborne fast. (so don't expect to successfully hit these from under a tree canopy) Good choice but 3 and 5 woods may be a redundant purchase. (or get one with a stiff shaft, one regular)

This is a 3+ wood that can go the distance of a driver. I bought it to upgrade my old 3 wood for a few of the holes with tight fairways on my home course.

I am a big fan of the Cobra SS series woods, I absolutely love this wood and would trade it for no other.

In my search for the ultimate fairway wood, the SS takes first place for power. Although not as forgiving as, let's say, a Steelhead (Plus or III), when you hit this on or near center, the ball jumps in the air a goes way long. The dense, compact head moves nicely through the rough. The 5 wood is ideal for high flying, long approaches to slippery greens you can't do with your 2 or 3 iron. The 3 wood is longer off the tee than many of the watermelon sized drivers on the market today.

This club out distanced Titleist, Callaway, Bridgestone, and some others, when hit on or near center. This is the perfect weapon if you are looking for distance and accuracy with a slight compromise in forgiveness.

I've been using Cobra drivers and fairway woods for a while now, but was having trouble with par 5 holes because I wasn't comfortable with my old 3 wood. I purchased the SZ3W because it had great ratings in many golf magazines, and felt quite nice when I tried it out during a demo at a golfing range. Ever since, par 5 holes are much easier to hit the green on the second shot, as this wood is very forgiving and gets good distance. There is practically nothing I dislike about this wood.

This Cobra driver was an excellent buy. The shaft gives the feel of complete control of the club at all times. The head seems small for a 3 wood, but allows for long, straight fairway drives. I bought it since a friend had the same one and was having great success with it.

The quality of the product and the price was very nice .
I have a lot of other cobra woods and irons, I am retired and play a lot of Golf .

I recently bought two (2) fairway woods from an ebay seller. The clubs were much better than i expected. The delivery was quick and simple. The clubs are great. Anything that i need and want to save money on i buy through E-Bay.

I'm a beginner golfer, been playing about a year. One day I went to the PGA store and tried out some clubs and got some tips. I couldn't afford a $300.00 club, although I was hitting it real good. I went to their used section and found 3 to test which were all 460 heads accept for the Cobra which was a 350.
I was impressed that I was hitting the 350 Cobra the same as the others, it was a lot less than the 460's, so I bought it. With in a month my driving got a lot more consistent, I left the mid-60s and worked my way to consistent low 50s on 9 holes. I wanted to have a matching set so I've been searching for some SS mates, and I found a 3 and a 5, and I also bought a used set of Cobra FP irons. Now my problems can't be blamed on my clubs. Everybody that have tried out these Cobras are impressed as well. Try'em out!

The King Cobra Three Wood is able to go down and get a ball off the fairway and up in the air fast. The stiff shaft allows for more control with a strong, fast swing.

I love this club since it performs as I have expected . The only thing that I would expect but not realise is the club shape and size , since I thought it should be bigger , however I don't have any problem with that anymore after I used it and I like the performance .

It had more scratches than I anticipated. It looks like it has been hit in abrasive materials. I would not have bought this club if I could have seen it in person before buying.

This is a great fairway wood. It came out about 5 years ago and still swings like a brand new one! I would recommend this cobra to anyone!
