I had an ungodly slice and then this bad boy was recommended to me. While I still have to hit the ball well, my drives are straighter and longer. This thing isn't magical but it was close for me. There are other offset clubs out there but this one felt the best when I used a demo in a golf store. I would recommend trying several different brands because the price tags on these are a little steep for the below average to average golfer. You gotta find the ONE.

The only thing I didn't like about the club is the headcover. It's big and awkward looking plus I had a hard time getting it on and off. If you can snag the club off EBay w/out the cover for a little cheaper, I'd do it.

  Cobra LD M Offset Driver

Fantastic Driver. I bought this after playing the 3 wood, and testing or owning almost every recent OEM driver, including Callaway FT-5, Ping G5, Nike Sumo, Taylor R7. The large head makes off center hits very playable, and boosts confidence. The M series is 2 degrees closed, and combined with offset really keeps the fades and slices minimized. I have the 9 degree, which results in a really nice higher than average trajectory, but can be knocked down easily into the wind. The M series uses the 50 gm Aldila NVS shaft, which is great for golfers who prefer lighter shafts, or want to create slightly more clubhead speed and higher shots. I use the stiff, which works out very well for my near 100 mph swingspeed. The LD series comes in 3 different head choices and various shaft combinations, and no doubt there is one that will work for almost every golfer. The stock club is 45 inches long, which seems to be best for accuracy with distance. I have nothing negative to say about this club. Several friends and others have commented about not liking the sound, which is rather loud and something like an aluminum bat. It does not bother me at all. I must say, each time I have been to the range other golfers have come up to me to ask what I was hitting, which has never happened before (I am a 9 handicapper, and only hit the ball 240-250 yds). This interest is due to a combination of perfect drive after drive, the sound, and the interesting head/club design. I strongly urge any golfer looking for a new driver to demo this club, or just pick one up, as they are so fairly valued, and the bang for the buck is amazing.

I have filed a dispute on this purchase. The seller omitted critical information that resulted in my purchasing a golf club that was not what I was under the impression I was purchasing. The seller has refused multiple attempts to discuss this issue.

I'm an average golfer but wanted to upgrade my driver. Afer research I decided on the M Speed 13.5 deg. offset driver and have been thrilled with the results. It is truly a forgiving club and I'm definitely hitting the ball not only 20-30 yards longer but straight down the middle every single time!

Cobra M Speed Driver - Long and Straight ...
Review created: 06/28/07(updated 07/20/07)
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

Its simple - If you are a 10 - 20 handicap and have a tendency to push/slice the ball, this is the club for you. I am a 14 handicap and tendency to push
the ball to the right. With Sumo, Taylormade and Titleist I hit fairways 50%
at best, now, its more like 80%... Only complaint, I bought a 5 wood that
was offset and hooked almost everything. I went back to my Nike Sasquatch
5 wood and all is well...

This is a great looking club, it long and straight. It is longer, and no where
near as loud as the Nike Sumo2 ... Go for it and you will Love It...

  Cobra M speed driver

The seller in this case is A+ in every respect.

The driver did not meet my expectations and was shorter in driving distance than my Ping G5 driver (10.5 degree, reg. flex shaft) , even though my swing speed is slower (age 62). The 12 degree loft should have resulted in more distance from a better launch angle but this was not the case. I resold it about 3 weeks later. My past experience with Cobra drivers has been good so this might just be a case of the wrong combination of shaft flex (R) and face loft.

When I got the driver it was broken
Review created: 07/03/07

I bought the Cobra Driver for a friend. Now there is a mess because the driver was broken when I received it from the seller and sent by UPS. I was very obvious when the driver was broken. I was not home and it was left at my door. Now I have a lot of discouraging details to fix this problem. I have to take digital pictures (6) of the box and various pictures of the club. I then have to email the pictures with details to UPS in Virginia. Who knows when the problem will be resolved and a new club or repair will be athorized. I think it will take an inordinate amount of time and there will be no club for a long time. I wish I had not used EBAY for this transaction. Now I have the mess to deal with and no club. It is not fun dealing with a large corporation like UPS. I have had another issue with a delivery that came late from UPS, therefore rendering it useless to me and with no recourse.
Thank you for allowing me to outline my dilema.

  It's all about confidence
Review created: 03/20/07

3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

Before buying I did a little research on a lot of drivers. I tend to fade to the right and wanted more control. The offset immediately corrected this issue. I also tend to hit flatter drives. The 10.5* gave me a better angle for a longer flight. You must use the extra long tees though. As I age my club speed is going down so I tended to try to swing faster and harder to get the same distance. We all know the results of overswinging. Choosing the M speed was a better "fit" for my realistic speed, yet it has maximized my distance. It has a very forgiving face for a weekend golfer like myself. It is the perfect driver for me in every way, I love it. Easy to swing, accurate, and long. I look down at the head, then the ball and I have all of the confidence in the world it will go where I want it. I think 3/4 of the battle is having confidence in your equipment. Matching the club to your unique swing is the rest. If you hook, hit sky high drives, and swing 120 mph this is the wrong club for you. This driver targets a specific golfer and delivers. You will undoutedly still have poor drives but don't blame this driver.

  UNBELIEVABLE

I am a high handicapper, not gonna say how high, and have had several different drivers, Taylormade,Orlimar,Liquid Metal,Callaway, and Tour Edge. Of course everyone proclaimed theirs to be the greatest. I have always had a terrible slice, and I have found the cure. The Cobra LD M is awesome. I don't think I could slice the ball even if I tried. I have played only one round with and it and shaved at least 7 shots off my score, it's much easier to hit the ball out of the "short grass". Do yourself a favor and test drive this club among others at your local shop and you will be amazed.

  Long and high

I bought the 12 degree driver m speed. I am a five handicapper and use a stiff shaft. This time I bought the senior shaft because I liked the feel and the extra height when hitting the demo 10.5 degree. The 12 is awesome high and long with absolutely no roll. So, I decided to buy a 9 degree m speed and change the shafts because Cobra does not assemble a senior shaft in a nine degree head. End of story.

  Cobra M Speed S9-1 Driver 9.5º Loft
Review created: 09/09/09

I like the Cobra Driver because it is offset and that stops me from hitting my drives to the right. The S9-1 that I bought has a large face and seems to hit the ball well every time and makes a solid noise. I bought it because of the above features.

  Great Club
Review created: 09/08/09
by:

The club itself has helped my drives be a lot more consistent. Balls that before would have been had huge hooks or slices turned into fades and draws in most cases. I tested prolly 8 drivers before i decided to go with the cobra m speed 11.5 degree regular flex. It wasn't the longest driver i tested but it was definately the most forgiving. I like the unique sound that it has on impact and the sleek design makes it a pretty awesome club to look at. The only downside to the club is the awkwardly crafted head cover which is hard to get on and off. If you can get it for cheaper without its head cover id recommend it, as im probably going to go buy a different one because im sick of it.

This golf club was well described. The club also is in fantastic condition. I bought the club because I wanted to try one and thought I could get a used one cheap. Well, I got it cheap, and to my suprise Its in like new condition. As for hitting the club I couldn't ask for a better fit. Being an "offset head" it helps my slice significantly, And I probably gained 20 yards or more on distance.

I wanted a Cobra M Speed Driver, but couldn't afford a new one. This one is in excellent shape and drives as good as new, for much less than the cost of a new one. The seller was very fast with the S&H, and I in my next tournment and won my class.

Somehow Cobra can make a driver that is perfect for me. I can't hit any other company's driver as consistently or as far as the offset LD driver. I love this club. It has enabled me to go from a 5 handicap to a 1...no doubt about it.
The only dislike is the noise it makes; but I can live with it.

Cobra M Speed Driver Golf Club Stiff Flex
Review created: 01/08/09

I bought this club in the hopes of correcting a horrible slice and it has done exactly what I expected it to do. I love this club and would recommend it to anyone who has problems driving a golf ball straight as it will correct your problem because of the offset head. This particular club is a 9 degree but this is not a problem in any way as I still get plenty of height on my drives. My Grandson tried it and now wants one just like it, guess what I'm doing now?? Thanks e-bay! :)
