Cobra Electronics Road Trip 40-Channels Handheld CB Radio

I really like the CB Radio because I can get weather updates whenever I want. It also works great to talk to truckers. It is just a lot of fun and it works great. I didn't know anything about this radio and I am 100 percent satisfied with it and recommend it to anyone. The buttons are easy to use and it is not complicated. It is simple to use and anyone can figure it out. It is awesome. I highly recommend it.

I used it for the first time on a trip from Illinois to Washington, DC; and it proved to be worth the price I paid. Traffic and snow alerts were invaluable from drivers (even received an advanced warning of an accident in the mountains that helped me choose an alternative route). The range is about 3-4 miles in either direction and with the external antenna, the reception is very good. I wanted a handheld so I could transfer it to rental cars, but it does have the downside of wires in the way. However, that is a little price to pay for its mobility, clearity and function. Glad I did it.

I chose the Cobra RoadTrip handheld CB because it was recommended by co-workers. I had thought that I could get by with a cheap-o Midland handheld CB but it had horrible reception and even worse output. When I received my Cobra RoadTrip it was like night and day when compared to the Midland. With my Cobra RoadTrip I could hear and be heard clearly and at good distances. The battery (9AA) lifespan also lasts longer than the Midland. The only thing I don't like about the Cobra is that I wish the belt clip was stronger and deeper. The belt clip is made of lightweight plastic and comes off too easily. A co-worker broke their belt clip soon after they started using it. Also, as with all battery-consuming products it would be nice to see a rechargable pack available for it because quality AA batteries aren't cheap. I would definitely recommend the Cobra RoadTrip handheld CB radio. Don't waste your money on a cheap-o Midland like I did.
