This club is much more controllable than my 4-iron due to its shorter length shaft. I bought it because I recently bought a Cobra M-Series driver on eBay and absolutely love it. My only complaint is that the Baffler has a stiffer shaft than the senior flex shaft that I am used to, and I am having to learn to swing it a little easier than I ordinarily would. However, I still consistently get 170-180 yards from it on the fairway. Also, it is heavy enough to power through first-cut rough without twisting into an unwanted fade shot.

Easy to hit & more forgiving than your mother

I purchased the Cobra Baffler DWS 2R w/ Aldila NV-65 Stiff and it has replaced 5w & 2 iron. I've used it
in rough, off hard pan, fairway and off the tee. I've actually hit it further than the two clubs it replaced a few times.I love it and it has started to cut strokes. High launch and soft landing hitting into the green.
Set up as normal, swing like a 7-iron.

  COBRA BAFFLER HYBRID GOLF CLUB
Review created: 02/02/08

AFTER PURCHASING A 23 DEGREE HYBRID AS A 4 IRON REPLACEMENT AND DISCOVERING THE MANY VIRTUES, I SUBSEQUENTLY BOUGHT A 20 AND THEN A 26 DEGREE HYBRID. THEY ARE EASIER TO HIT, GO STRAIGHTER, MEET LESS RESISTANCE IN THE ROUGH AND ARE GENERALLY MORE FORGIVING. I THINK THE EFFECTIVE "SWEET SPOT" IS SIGNIFICANTLY LARGER THAN THAT OF THE EQUIVALENTLY LOFTED TRADITIONAL IRON. I AM A MID-TEEN HANDICAP, OLDER TAD HITTING REGULAR FLEX GRAPHITE SHAFTS AND I REALLY LOVE THESE CLUBS.

The cobra bafflers are great golf clubs that any golfer should have in their bag. They are so much easier to hit than the longer irons such as a 3 or 4 iron.I now have three of them in my bag and would recommend them to anyone that wants to improve their accuracy from 160 to 200 yards.

Easy to hit & long for the average player

I have owned a couple of hybrids -- TaylorMade Dual Rescue, Adams A3OS, and the Baffler. The Adams is also a very good club for those who need even more of a confidence boost, but for the mid-handicap and under, the Baffler is an excellent club. Cobra's shaft options are very good. I have the Aldila HS-Proto 65 in mine, and the club is capable of hitting very accurate shots. I on the other hand am not... and in those instances where I don't make the perfect swing, I still get a reasonably decent shot out of the club. Last week I hit this club 182 yards to a 178 yard pin and was less than a yard left of the pin. Very pleasing to hit the green like that! I will add at least one more of these to my bag.

If your not hitting your long irons crisp, then try a baffler. I was having trouble with long irons in deep grass or even off the hardpan. I tried the baffler and wow. I have'nt had a bad shot since. It might be mental, but it works. It is very easy to hit. No topping, shanking, or hitting it fat. Always smoothe and comes out with little effort. I have had a right and left shot, but that is just my lineup. It still came out great. Make sure you have the right shaft and grip. It makes all the difference. You don't have to have the club fitted to you because it is so easy to hit.

Cobra Baffler DWS 23 Degree Reg Shaft

Great club that gives a very solid feel and good distance for shots from 190 to 200 yards. I know that with this club getting closer or on the green on those longer par 4's will be possible.

I decided on Cobra because I currently use the F-speed driver and I am satisfied with the feel and distance it gives.

Much easier to hit than 5 iron. High ball flight with soft landing. The 5 utility carries about 5 yards mor than the 5 iron. It is also much easier to hit from sand and is good for chip and run shots around the green.

SELLER FAILED TO COMPLY WITH ADVERTISEMENTS

I can't review the roduct without reviewing th seller. 3BALLSGOLF offered a 10% DISCOUUNT which they failed to HONOR and have failed to respond to my inquires. Less than impressed. It's not much $, but it establishes a lack of respect for the buyer and a failure to comply with its advertisements.

I WOULD NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS SELLER AGAIN. NO CREDIBILITY.

Not very good feel compared to the other Hybrids on the market, actually a very dead feel. distance and accuracy is good and they use a quality shaft but I like for feedback and feel from my club. I am now using the Taylormade Rescue TP. Thanks

  Older player magic!!!
Review created: 04/12/08

Remember when we could "leap tall buildings in a single bound". Now it takes TWO bounds. Well the same is true in golf. Even though I am only 57 I just can't get the snap on a 3 or 4 iron anymore. So I tried a demo 4R 23* Cobra, wow, what a nice feel it has. From 215-225 yards, straight, great height and on the green. Now I have a 3R 20* Cobra and believe me it is magic. Maybe now I can improve on my 14 Hcp.
If you are over 50, do yourself a big favor......Try a demo!
HOT DOG!!!!!

Cobra Baffler Utility 2 Iron with Speeder Stiff Shaft
Review created: 03/30/08

This is a wonderful club and fills a gap in my distance. The 757 Speeder Shaft is, by far, the best shaft I have ever hit. I also have it on my driver and feel
totally confident when hitting it.

I tried the club for the 1st time yesterday at the driving range. I was hitting balls straight and long. Very solid hits off the club face. I am so far very happy with the club and I am looking forward to putting it to use on the course.

Cobta Baff;er Utility Fairway Wood Golf Club
Review created: 05/04/07
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This club incorporates many features which most golfers will find appealing. The head is compact, allowing for contact no matter how thick the rough may be. It is easy to hit from a tee on a long par three and you can hit a quarter off of the fairway and leave change. And unlike many other hybrids it does not balloon. It just launches high and bores through the air. Highly recommended.
