I bought this CB because i didnt want the bulkiness the normal cb units cluttering up my jeeps valuable space. The remote box is small and you can hide it away just about anywhere. The CB itself fits nicely into the palm of your hand and all functions are only a fingertip away.
This radio is exceptional for todays small cars. Very little space is required for mounting under the dash. This is a full featured radio including weather channels and a scan feature on the CB channels. I now own two of these units and recommend them to anyone wanting a CB radio who has limited mounting space. Another excellent radio that has the versitility of a portable is the Midland model 75-822.
Years ago when Radio's were made like this, they were junk. No power, can't hear that well. Bur this unit is pretty good. I got it for my MGB Convertible. My wife and I travel alot and when we go, I like to keep a cb in the car. Plus when we go to car shows, I just slide the microphone under the seat and nobody knows it is there.
I needed a small CB because I don't have much room in my car and this was a perfect fit for me. I have owned lots of CB's over the years and this one is my favorite. I also bought a RM Italy 200 Linear to boost my signal (boost=100W) and with that on I can talk about 40-50 miles and with it off I get about 8-12 mile range. The Antenna is Everything, in fact I spent more money on my antenna setup then I did for the CB. I recommend an NMO Trunk lip mount professional antenna. You can't go wrong with this CB.
This CB is great for what it is intened for: Compact, easy to install, and cheap.
I had this CB installed in my Land Rover LR3 and it worked great! I had it simply wired right beside my right leg by the center console and clipped it next to my steering wheel on the right side. I was up and running in under an hour.
This CB is great if you have limited space in your vehicle.
I ended up replacing the unit for a more "robust" Uniden CB for two reasons:
1. The 75WXST does not have a PA output (so you can talk and yell at other people from your "blow horn" under your hood. 1. The unit does not have any weather channels.
In today's age, you can get weather info from AM/FM or Sattelite radio. And if having a PA is not important to you, then this Cobra 75WXST will do the job and will make a very small "footprint" in your car or truck.
I bought the Cobra WX ST because I had very limited space for a CB in my truck. The unit works very well and will easily transmit a couple of miles with my cheap antenna no problem. I'm sure if I had a more expensive antenna it would do much more. The features like the scan button, a button for CH19, memory buttons and instant weather feature are very handy. Mounting can be almost anywhere as the controls for the unit are all in the mic and the remote unit is tiny and requires minimum space. This also helps for security because it all can be hidden easily under the seat or dash. Overall I would recommend this radio to anyone who needs a reliable CB and has limited space or doesn't want a large unit cluttering up the dash area.
Great radio, easy installation, easy to follow information booklet. I decided to buy because of it's price and the reviews I've read on it. It's nice to be able to change channels with the mic, and it's easy to work.
For me this is an outstanding CB radio. It comes in clear, transmit well, and it is compact. If you don't have room for a full size CB radio, this is a must have if you need a CB radio in your car.
I knew what I was looking for. This was a great buy because it came with an antenna and coax cable for the same price as others advertised without the accesories. I am happy with the buy.
Easy to install and use. can be moved quickly for storage or to use in another car that has a Cobra AC-701 unit which is an extra cost of about $30. The hand unit is a little heavier than just a mike but all the controls are in your hand for easy control I have two units, enjoy them far better than my larger CB units. A SWR meter is not part of the set so you may want to go the cost of one to keep monitor or at least setup your units sanding wave ratio.
I had requested the CB radio be sent to a temporary Florida address, instead, it was sent to me Massachusetts address.
I'm told that it arrived in a very timely manner. I'll have to wain until April to check out the unit, although, I expect it will be in proper condition.
