I decided to buy it because it was a Cobra advertised as a working radio. All it did was make static on the receive end, it never did transmit. A lot of people think that if a radio lites up, and the needle moves when keying the mic, the radio is transmitting. However, there must be needle movement when speaking into the microphone, not just keying up. I flexed the board and got it to receive by touching a soldering iron to certain joints on the circuit board. It still does not transmit however. The only consolation is the working microphone. I transfered it to another radio.
To whom it may concern, in good faith i purchased a cobra 19 40 channel base cb radio. I received a junk radar detector instead of the radio. I paid postage for a cb radio not a detector. I cancelled my payment. The man's word wasn't good.
