As a fan of XTC since Skylarking came out, I've unwrapped each other album like a special gift, meant specifically for me. With the release of collections of demos, outtakes and other oddities, listeners get the opportunity to hear their favorite songs in their infancy.
This four-disc set includes live cuts, home demos and alternate versions. It comes with an 80-page booklet, with lots of photos, an essay by internet megafan Harrison Sherwood, and a write-up for each and every track by band members.
If you're looking for insight to the early workings of most of these songs, this is an excellent collection to own. If you've previously enjoyed the collections of demos like Homespun or especially Fuzzy Warbles, this is an excellent offering to taste and digest.
