Coal Miner's Daughter (DVD, 2005, 25th Anniversay Edition)

My 11 year old daughter had never even heard of Loretta Lynn, but loved country music. I told her that she had to see this movie. At first she wasn't too excited, but once she started watching she was hooked. She even liked it better than Walk the Line. My 17 year old son started watching it too. He thought it was great that Tommy Lee Jones was in it. It is a great movie about a classic country legend. A sure hit for any family!!!

I love that line from this funny, heartwarming, music filled movie..Sissy Spacek did a great job bringing Loretta Lynns' Biography to life..bit of trivia did you know Sissy did her own singing...yes, Sissy Spacek can sing..her vocal talents shocked and thrilled Mrs. Lynn! Sissy said "some songs were harder to sing then others" that's no surprise Loretta Lynn is a rare talent..Born to a poor family Mrs. Lynn struggled for eveything she has and everything she became..This movie is sure to please any and all Loretta Lynn Fans..

My mother who is 83 related to this movie of life in the Mountains...
As she watched the movie, she related to the hard times they lived in and how
there was no money or food, and all the men worked for the coal mines and the
wives all shopped out of the mine boss's country store for their food on checkday...
Mother and I loved the movie, but it sure brought back some memories for Mother
and how she experienced the "poverty" of the mountains, back in her day, from the same area in Kentucky, where the movie was made from...
Mother states she "hates" Kentucky because of her childhood memories....
MOVIE WAS GREAT!!

If you are a fan of country music, you must own this movie. I'm not a huge fan of country, but my fiance is, and I got this for her. I've seen the movie a number of times, and she had never seen it. She has watched it a few times since I got if for her and she loves this movie!!!

I really like older movies. I really enjoy watching movies about famous people,such as in this movie the story of Loretta Lynn. It's interesting to know how the famous peoples'life really was. I really don't dislike anything about this movie. I pretty much know the words of this movie word for word. The reason I bought it is because it's about the "queen of country music" and her life. The producers of Coal Miner's Daughter couldn't have picked better actors as Sissy Spacey and Tommy Lee Jones.

Sissy Spacek became Loretta Lynn in this story of her beginning in Butcher Holler, Kentucky--the oldest of 8 children of a coal miner and his stay-at-home wife. Married at the age of 13, the story follows her and her husband, Mooney, played wonderfully by Tommy Lee Jones as they move to the West coast and he insists that she develop her musical talent to make money for the family. The movie is hilarious, and Sissy Spacek plays the part magnificently and won an Academy Award. Equally good is Beverly D'Angelo as Patsy Cline, who enters the story when Loretta Lynn starts to be heard in Nashville. All three of these stars are wonderful!

The story develops to the point where Loretta becomes well off, and she is touring all the time while her husband takes care of the kids and the ranch that they buy in Nashville.

The music is wonderfully sung by Sissy Spacek and Beverly D'Angelo. Songs include Sissy singing "You Ain't Woman Enough to Take My Man", the title song, "Honky Tonk Girl", "You're Looking at Country," and "Don't Come Home a Drinkin'" Beverly sings "Sweet Dreams".

This is a movie not to be missed.

I like to watch how inspired and motivated Loretta Lynn was at getting a singing career going at such a young age. She never gave up. I bought the movie as a gift to my mother, this is one of her most favorite movies.

Being from the sticks of America's heartland, I grew up watching this movie with my dad. We'd sit and sing songs and as a little girl, it taught me alot about hard work and the blue-collar boys that keep this country running. There's positively nothing to dislike about this movie. Kick off your shoes and sit back because this is an awesome fairy-tale of love, determination and success - the ultimate country-singer way!

i had no problems, the dvd is in good condition and i was able to get the dvd in a good time, they didnt take long to send it to me .

I purchased this DVD as it potrays the life of Loretta Lynn. She is the Queen of Country music and this is an excellent portrayal of her life. Sissy Spacek is excellent. Would highly recommend.

A very good movie. Sissy Spacek is awesome in this movie. Highly recommended. 10 stars! A movie you will no doubt watch over and over. Filmed in Kentucky it shows the true way things were done in those days. Few curse words that I noticed it is a good movie all the way around.

WE LOVE THIS MOVIE! I REMEMBER AS A KID MY PARENTS TOOK US TO THE DRIVE IN TO SEE IT. IT BRINGS BACK MEMORIES. IT IS ONE OF THOSE MOVIES THAT JUST WARMS YOUR HEART. SISSY SPACIC AND TOMMY LEE JONES ARE INCREDIBLE ACTORS! MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME! GREAT MOVIE TO WATCH WITH THE FAMILY.

this is a wonderful story that i think all need to watch country people as well as city. there isnt a story much better about growing up the hard way right after the war.

This is an excellent movie aobut the life of Loretta Lynne. It shows where she came from and how she met her husband, how she dealt with her addiction to pills and many other aspects of her life. I would recommend this movie for anyone.

I have always loved this movie that is about Loretta Lynn's Life's story from her early marriage,The struggle to make a marriage successful. The lose of her father and her friend and country legend patsy Cline. Her ups and downs in country music. I think it is a great movie for all generations because my mom loved it her kids loves it and my kids loves it.

This an all time favorite movie of ours. I think Sissy Spacek does an awesome job playing Loretta Lynn. The story of Loretta Lynn's life can help others who struggle to over things in their lives that can be overcome. It's a great success story of a woman who make a name for herself in the world of country music and the help she got from her husband along the way.

the thing I liked about this movie is that she is my favorate singer......and I have been tring to find it at a good price.....I think that once you own the movie you will want to watch it all the time....

I have truly enjoyed this movie. I have watched it over and over again. Thank you very much.And I have also enjoyed the movie david copperfield. I never knew how easy and how much fun it is to order pay and recieve your favorit dvds online. Now that I have learned how to do it, I promise you that I will be doing this all the time. It's easy simple and most of the time much cheaper.I have even told my friend about this and a lot of them are now purchasing their dvd's online as well.

The movie was quite factual, featuring Loretta Lynn's life. The music was great, especially if you like country/western. If you are not a country western fan or a biography fan, you probably would not like this movie. It follows the genre of movies made about stars, similar to Walk the Line. Which I think is also great.

I purchased this item for a birthday present. Shopping on Ebay is great. The DVD arrived in plenty of time.
