Movie Description
In the earliest of the several timeframes that make up this lovely romantic drama from director Richard Attenborough (GANDHI, CHAPLIN, SHADOWLANDS), the year is 1943 and a dying World War II gunner who just emerged from a fighter-pilot crash hands his ring off to a local with instructions to return it to his girlfriend. Fifty years after the fact, a young man comes across the ring and, making it his mission to uncover the entire intriguing history of this piece of jewelry, tracks down that girlfriend.
