  FUN SCARY GAME

This is a really good game from CAPCOM (Resident Evil makers). It's fairly short but the graphics and gameplay are pretty good...and it has it's fair share of scary moments!

  Should not be "Action/Adventure"

The only enjoyable part of this game is the very cool opening video. I played this game for a grand total of three hours and then had to turn it off before I threw my PS2 out the window!

Puzzles are impossible to figure out if you spend all your time running away from the bad guy! The only thing you can do to fight back is throw holy water on him, which just stuns him for a few seconds after which he is right there on your butt again because he runs at the same rate you do (and apparently, throwing holy water on someone is a time-consuming event). This means that no matter how many screens you run accross you won't outrun him and if you make it to a hiding place (which are few and far between) you have to sit there and wait for him to go away before you can come out. Don't know about you, but my idea of digital fun is not hanging out in a phone booth. Even if you do manage to hide, when the bad guy gets close the "panic meter" rises and if it tops out you run from your hiding place, falling all over the place until you just stop to shake uncontrollably, giving the large man with the sledgehammer ample time to squish you against the pavement like a grape.

You run from the bad guy in real life, not in video games! That's why they're fun, you get to kick butt when, logically, you should run away. Yes, the story and puzzles that I did get to were good, and the graphics were impressive, but I just can't get past the sheer frustration of spending most of your time running away.

Clock Tower 3 = crasy game probably very good.

This seemed like a nice game to pick up, got it for cheap price (always). And its got some good looking elements so far. Capcom normally delivers great game play & experience. VERY NICE! :)

EDIT::

I finished this game in an average time, the first half is very good & has got some gore/brutal elements its very good, the 2nd half is more dark & ambient with ghosts & nice level development, its a little off the 2nd half but, is still a nice game, there is a harder difficulty & more costumes once you beat the game.

overall 7/10

Well, it was a few years ago when I first got my hands out this game. I was pretty young, have some really fond memories staying up real late with my uncle to play it. Now, I barely get to see my uncle as he lives really far away. I just felt like feeling the memories again.

  An Excellent Game

This is one of the only games where I screamed in fear. I played this game in the dark sitting in a chair, leaning forward. In parts of the game you are being chased by a killer, I ran into a bathroom and hid in one of the stalls... you could hear the killer looking for you... I heard a door close and then it was quiet... I slowly came out of the stall, looking around... as I head for the bathroom door.... AAAHHHHH !!! The killer jumps out from hiding in the bathroom and takes a swing at me. I was really scared for a second, I then laughed my a.ss off. I never heard of this game, I read some reviews here and decided to buy it. It was well worth the money. For any fan of Resident Evil or Scary movies this is a good buy. Lots of being chased by killers and outsmarting them and hiding. Twice I got stuck and went online and looked at a walkthrough of the game for quick answers, I didnt realise that you could press close to a wall and walk a thin leadge, or on the last level I missed sliding a candel stick to get to a door. A very enterting game, just like your favorite scary movie!

This game had alot going for it in the first level, but after that it just fizzled into a world of bad acting and re-used resident evil playing mechanics. The boss battles are terrible. Since when can't a person move their line of sight while aiming?
To sum everything up, this game had potential but was ruined by a rushed and lazy programming scheme.

Our 9 year old daughter loves games like this! (Haunting Ground is also another great game)
If you like/love games w/ that "scare" effect, this is one of those games!
Awesome game!

Good if you like the run and hide horror games..

As my review title states.. this game is good if you like the run and hide horror. Being this was the first time I played this type of game, I soon found out I wasn't a fan.

The opening of the game was great. The mood was creepy. I like the cut scenes. However, I only lasted playing for a couple hours. It creeped me out. I didn't like the fact that you play as some defenseless girl being chased by some crazy insane guy with a sledge hammer. You have no defense but to hide. Holy water?! Please... you can't outrun him. He is just as fast as you.

I bought the game because I liked Silent Hill.. but I just didn't like running and hiding the whole time. If that's your thing.. then you'll like it.

Clock Tower is fun if you like scary themed role playing!?! You'll spend a few hours trying to get through this game. Of course there is upgrades and power-ups to be won! We collect Playstation games, so of course this was another purchase for that as well! PS2 still rocks at our house and will for years to come!

  Not Bad

After trying out the Clock Tower for the SNES and liking it (yes, despite the cheesy graphics XD), I decided to give 3 a shot. I admit I did have fun, but one thing that put me off was how weak the ending was compared to the rest of game.

*Warning, contains some spoilers*
The first stage occurs in London during the WW2 era, and this is where the game really shows off the ambiance and sound of the environment; the wreckage, the city itself, and the haunting music playing in the background. You get chased by Sledgehammer (his name pretty much explains it all), staying true to the "chase and hide" Clock Tower style of game play. One new thing about the game is that you actually fight the boss at the end of each stage. The battles definitely get more challenging towards the end, which may frustrate some players.

The game has its "freak you out" moments in both cut-scenes and game play, though the effect is diminished with some of the characters (let's just say some of them are not all that frightening, like the Scissor-twins, who remind me of mimes...with big scissors). The chase is also a bit more challenging because the bad guys are faster this time around. This isn't too much of a problem because the game gives you some items to help you out.

As for sound and music, the game does a good job. The voice acting is actually decent (although one of the villians has an annoying voice), and the music really fits the horror atmosphere.

Even though overall I enjoyed the game, I feel as though the ending could have been done better. It feels like the developers rushed with the last parts of the game, and the final boss battle was disappointing, though very challenging. I also wish that the game were longer; the first time I played through I finished it in only several hours. But all in all it is a decent horror game, though if you don't like the chase-and-hide method of game play, you probably won't like this game.

  Find something else to play

The graphics are lovely. I love a good horror game, and this is not one of them. The game play is not really that interesting as you really just run and hide and wait. Run, hide, then wait some more. Why not find something else to play? There are much better games than this.

XOXO

I thought that it was a great game! Although Clock Tower 3 can get a little annoying at times, its still an enjoyable game. Running away from bad guys over and over again isn't all this game has to offer though, there are many puzzels and mini features you can unlock. Also after beating the game the first time you can go and play on your file again to get a much harder virsion of the game. (recomended for advance players only)
Some down pointers to this game though could be the fact that you repeat the same actions alot and you can get bored of it very easily. A very short game too...only lasting me a good ten hours the first time i plaid the game and then 4 hours the next, this isn't really a time consuming game. But still is very fun once you get the hang of it!
If I were you I would get it, but remember its rated M so you should be older then 18 to play. Enjoy.

  What a disappointment.

Pros:
Nice graphics, decent storyline

Cons:
SHORT!!!!! Lack of camera control, uneven challenges.

This review is still in progress, as I have not finished the game yet. Feedback is welcome for future updates. When I first saw a trailer for Clocktower 3 for PS2, I knew I had to have it. Nice graphics, and another horror installment from Capcom. What's not to like? I admit to have not ever hearing of Clocktower before then, but I was late into the Resident Evil club too. As soon as it was released, I went and paid my $49.95. I ran right home, ripped it open and began to play. Unfortunately, that was the end of the good experiences. In Clocktower 3, you play Alissa, a 14 year-old girl whose..

The clock strikes twelve ~ time for judgement!
Review created: 07/17/03
by: NMD85 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Compelling story, brilliantly felicitous soundtrack, realistically frightening cutscenes and confrontations

Cons:
Dumb A.I., clumsy controls, adaptivity to routine gameplay, Alyssa needs to run faster!

Although many may not be familiar with the Clock Tower series on the original Playstation, Human Entertainment (a strictly Japanese developer) and Sunsoft (another heavily Japanese company but responsible for Batman on the original Nintendo) have been releasing a series of these non-zombie survival-horror games since the mid '90's. Unless you were part of the cult following of sleeper titles, you may have been rather befuddled to see Clock Tower 3 slapped with a Capcom logo on it and being served up seemingly out of the blue amongst such other Capcom titles. My first though was that Clock...

The Bell Tolls For Thee Three Times!!!
Review created: 06/26/03
by: jay_wolf -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Amazing FMVs, Fairly good scare factor, intriguing storyline, developed characters.

Cons:
Not too much replayability, novice puzzles, too short if you rush through.

As a hardcore CLOCK TOWER fan (I even have the original SNES game that was not released to the US where CLOCK TOWER 2 for PSX was brought over to the US as CLOCK TOWER and the horrid gaiden of the series, CLOCK TOWER: GHOSTHEAD for PSX, was brought over as CLOCK TOWER II: THE STRUGGLE WITHIN) who had heard the announcing of CLOCK TOWER 3 back in 1998 (in PSM Magazine), I can say that my five year wait was well worth it. This new addition to the series takes CLOCK TOWER in a new direction and one that I like a lot. Story 7/10 The setting is London, England. The story is about a 14-year-old...

A horror game that's actualy scary!
Review created: 07/16/05
by: malikmon -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Actualy scary in places, fairly unique story for survival horror, fun boss battles

Cons:
Stalkers change from scary to annoying, short(which made the story suffer)

I heared little about this game before actualy getting it, which was a good thing. Although I have yet to play the first 2 Clocktower games, I am interested(if I can find copies that is) Story:9/10 Most survival horrors aren't very strong on plot, so this game's plot is actualy very good when compared to others of the genre. Basicly you're a 14 year old girl(probaly the youngest lead charicter in survival horror) who was sent to boarding school by her mom for reasons unknown. You get a phone call not to go home for your birthday but this only brings you home. You end up finding a mysterious...

True survival Horror from the bottom of the barrel
Review created: 01/15/04
by: ariels1200 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
graphics (not in-game), and FMVs look realistic, thats all there pretty much is

Cons:
besides the looks of the FMV, there really isnt, this game is horrible!

I remember this is the game you get when theres nothing out, and for the 20 dollar price tag, why wouldn't be?, its cheap and there, of course being cheap wont make it playable, just save some cash in the bank but thats all there is to it. Now i look at gameplay, what a rip i should've just got Silent Hill 2 for the same price (a much better game by the way), i mean this is the first survival horror game to not use any weapons (except Fatal Frame series to use a camera) and trust me if its anything a nice shotgun or rocket launcher would make up for all of this (Man I miss what Resident Evil..
