Mountain-- Climbing!

An awesome effort from early 1970s hard-rock outfit MOUNTAIN, this album opens with what is probably their most well-known song "Mississippi Queen". But it doesn't stop there! Also on this disc is "Theme from an Imaginary Western", which includes one of guitarist Leslie West's best-loved solos... a solo that media heavyweight Howard Stern admitted brought tears to his eyes as a teenager. My personal favorite, a much-underrated song entitled "For Yasgur's Farm" is also here. I bought this album because although I was unfamiliar with most of Mountain's music, I'd been aware of Leslie West and his reputation as a guitar slinger for many a year and thought I'd finally check it out for myself.
About the only song on this CD that's lacking is the closer "Boys in the Band"-however I'd recommend this purchase to anyone wishing to broaden their vintage Rock 'n Roll spectrum!
