Publisher's Note
In 2004, almost 200,000 students took the AP English Language and Composition exam in order to earn college credit for their high school work. Beginning in 2007, the exam will include questions on documentation and a new "synthesis essay." This updated guide reflects those changes and includes subject reviews and six practice tests.
Barbara V. Swovelin (Del Mar, CA) has taught AP classes since 1982. She is an AP Reader and has taught graduate test preparation classes in the LSAT and GMAT.
