  The ultimate remote!

I enjoyed the movie, although it was a bit different than the usual Adam Sandler flick. Sandler portrays an overworked dad with a pushy boss (David Hasselhoff), who never has enough time to fit everything into his day. Tension builds between him and his wife (Kate Beckinsale) at home since he is always putting his family things off to deal with work. While at a Bed, Bath & Beyond store, he enters the Beyond section, which is a bit more "beyond" than he realizes. He's looking for a universal remote for the home electronics. While there, he meets Morty (Christopher Walken) who appears to be a gadget geek of sorts. Morty gives Sandler this ultimate universal remote, but does not tell him of just how universal it really is! The adventures begin as Sandler starts to realize just how powerful the remote is. He fast-forwards through things he's not fond of dealing with, arguments, job assignments, etc... Eventually he realizes that he is also aging as time flies, and missing out on alot of his life in this process of skipping the stuff he thought was so bad. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad after all, as it all turns to quite the nightmare! If you're an Adam Sandler fan, you'll probably like this movie. However, you may want to rent before buying just in case. Has the usual crude type humor and some scenes where the family dog humps a large stuffed animal (duck), and one part towards the end that might require a kleenex or two *smile*.

CLICK WAS AN EXCELLENT MOVIE TO ME. IT CONTAINED EVERYTHING IT TAKES TO KEEP YOU ENTERTAINED. I LOVE ADAM SANDLER MOVIES!
THE MOVIE FEATURED ADAM AS MICHAEL NEWMAN, A BOSS WHIPPED WORKAHOLIC, KATE BECKINSALE AS HIS LOVING AND PATIENT WIFE, AND 2 BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN, WHICH HE SEEMS TO HAVE NO TIME FOR.
WITH A PUSHY BOSS PLAYED BY DAVID HASSELHOFF, MICHAEL FEELS A NEED TO FIND SOMETHING TO MAKE HIS LIFE MORE SIMPLE, AND COMPLETE. THIS IS WHEN MORTY COMES IN PLAYED BY CHRISTOPHER WALKEN. HE INTRODUCES MICHAEL TO THIS UNIVERSAL REMOTE THAT CAN ALLOW HIM TO PAUSE, FAST FORWARD, AND REWIND HIS LIFE.
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE..... YES IT IS! FOR A WHILE EVERYTHING WAS GOING MICHAEL`S WAY, THE BEST OF BOTH WORLD`S, HOME AND WORK WAS FINALLY GOING GREAT. THE REMOTE FINALLY TAKES OVER HIS WORLD.... SKIPPING, AN SCANNING THROUGH MICHAEL`S LIFE, TAKING OVER, SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL!
HE FINALLY REALIZES HE HAS MISSED SO MANY MILESTONES IN HIS, AND HIS FAMILIES LIFES. MICHAEL FINDS HIMSELF LOOSING HIS WIFE, MISSING HIS CHILDREN GROWING UP, AND LOOSING HIS DAD PLAYED BY HENRY WINKLER.
AS HE AGED VERY FAST, HE FOUND HIMSELF DYING. AS A SURPRISE MORTY WAS THE ANGEL OF DEATH, AND HAD WARNED MICHAEL NOT TO ABUSE THE REMOTE.
A SURPRISE TWIST AT THE END MICHAEL WAS DREAMING AND WOKE UP NORMAL, REALIZING HE HAS A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE. OF COURSE HE TAKES ADVANTAGE OF EVERY MOMENT, AND MADE UP A LOT OF LOST TIME WITH HIS FAMILY, THIS TIME WITHOUT THE REMOTE!
THIS MOVIE HAD IT ALL, IT MADE ME LAUGH, AND CRY, AND REWIND HERE AND THERE TO SEE SCENES OVER AGAIN!
I THINK IT TEACHES US TO APPRECIATE LIFE, SLOW DOWN AND SMELL THE ROSES!
IT HAD A FEW SCENES THAT MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR A YOUNGER AUDIENCE IN MY OPINION, BUT IT WAS A MOVIE WITH A LITTLE OF EVERYTHING. AN EXCELLENT COMEDY.

Everything you like Adam Sandler for is in this movie (laughs and inventive situations, etc.), but then it takes on a serious "Carpe Diem" tone, which you'd NEVER expect from the reviews and marketing material. This is a serious message flick that is acted and directed in an excellent way... sieze the moment, live for the day, you only go through this life once, etc. Watch this movie!

The movie starts off like most Sandler movies and has some very funny points! It basically has one big point: Even the moments in life we all don't like should be cherished because time just goes too fast and life will be over before you know it!

I enjoy most of Adam Sadler's films but this one disappointed me. I do think this film show's how a hard working husband/father could get frustrated with a boss. (Was David Hasselhof sober while making this movie?)

Called a 21st century remake of It’s a Wonderful Life
Review created: 03/21/08
by:

Called a 21st century remake of It’s a Wonderful Life (1946), Click (2006) is Adam Sandler’s second take in this genre (after Mr. Deeds (2002)) but with an added twist—“a universal remote control that remote controls his universe.”

Playing architect Michael Newman, Sandler’s character is not unlike most employees nowadays—who dream big. Wanting what everyone else covets—becoming a boss, a big shot, so that he can eventually hire idiots to do his work for him.

But at what cost?

With the excessive demands of his boss John Ammer (David Hasselhoff—its so weird hearing The Hoff’ call someone else “Michael.”), Newman (Sandler) workaholic tendencies become more apparent as he foregoes quality time with his family (children (Ben (Joseph Castanon) and Samantha (Tatum McCann), wife (Donna (Kate Beckinsale)), and parents (Theodore K. "Ted" Newman (Henry Winkler) and Gertrude "Trudy" Newman (Julie Kavner)) in order to pursue the American Dream.

That is until an inadvertent evening trip to Bed Bath & Beyond (BBB) in search of a universal remote—which he had hoped would “make life easier; quicker; not that much complicated”—turned out to be more than what he bargained for.

Enter BBB employee named Morty (Christopher Walken) and his non-refundable universal remote. Morty is cryptic as to the true nature of the device which he bestows onto Newman.

Newman discovers that the universal remote not only works on his television but on his Labrador named Sundance as well. Newman begins to frequently use the device and fast forward’s though other facets of his life that he is unwilling to deal with at that moment such as: arguments, Sundance taking a dump, shifting things to his favor, disturbances, sickness, showering, travel, a tan, a boring seminar, promotions, and “family time.” In the end, the remote assimilated his preferences and only his work remained.

One year goes by. Ten. Six. Seven. Newman’s life flashes before him.

His children have grown.

His father has passed away.

He losses his wife to a hobbit (“Captain Speedo” Bill played by Sean Astin is also Hobbit Samwise Gamgee of Lord of the Rings fame— Ouch, baby, very ouch).

Newman got what he wanted, he became a renowned architect. A boss. A big shot.

But was it worth it?

Newman finally sees the importance of his family.

Family first.

And luckily--much like "It’s a Wonderful Life’s" lead character George Bailey--Newman has a chance to do things right a second time.

This is such a great movie. It's funny the whole way through...
Surprisingly enough, it becomes emotional, too.
It's definitely something to see.

Enjoy!

This movie gives a great life lesson!
Review created: 02/05/08

Adam Sandler is always the funny man but he plays the family man in this movie who learns a great life lesson. So many people can take a lesson from this movie and what happens to the main character. There are many funny & poignant moments. What if you could fast forward parts of your life? Would you?

This is a pretty funny movie. You have your usual fart jokes and some crude humor but overall it was pretty good. I recommend it to anyone who likes Adam Sandlers other movies.

I enjoy Adam Sandler. I enjoyed the movie. It's just a movie that makes family night. I decided to purchase the movie, because I wanted it in my collection. It was also at a reasonable price. The movie was just a great story about the what if? What if we had control over our life? So that just really kept my attention. I just really enjoyed watching it, and could watch it over and over. That's why I decided to purchase the movie.

Not a big Sandler fan, however, this movie was awesome!!!

It made me think about my life and how fast things fly by (I thought it was my age, lol).

After watching this movie, it made me want to "slow down" and take more interest in all the things we take for granted everyday.

I have *never* had a movie, especially a comedy take such a toll on my everyday living!

Very believable & REALISTIC (to a point) - Great Movie!

Has alot of humerous situations but also the serious situations in life that we don't always see in a movie. It was well written but dragged out a tiny bit in a couple of places where it was really depressing but then it brightened up and flowed nicely again. We will definitely watch this movie again, it's great!

  Click (Adam Sandler)

This is a cute little movie, with a lesson in living every minute of life. Adam Sandler's workaholic character purchases a "special" remote control from Bed,Bath, & BEYOND. This technology enables him to skip over arguments with his wife, disagreements with a disagreeable boss (David Hasselhoff), and nuisances regarding the children. However, the clicker takes on a life of its own and spirals out of control. It's a nice little movie, but a bit on the bland side for me.

I liked this movie...makes you think about what we miss out on in life.
Sends a message. I felt like I needed to see it again right after it ended so I could see if I missed anything in the movie.. I rarely rewatch a movie.

  A film of life
Review created: 08/06/07
by:

I highly recommend this film. It's actually one of few movies these days that actually tells you something. Although this is a comedy about a fictional remote, the audience should take something away from this film. What everyone should take away is that life is too short. If all you do is work, work, work, STOP! Put your life on pause for one second. Then think to yourself, how much have you actually missed out on in your own life? If you have kids, were you there often for them or were you away at work during their birthdays and other family outings? This film is about workaholic dad who is given a remote, and even though he abuses it, by the end he's still able ditch the remote and pay more attention to his life. That is something we all should be doing. There is more to life than working all the time. We all need to take a break and spend time with our family and friends and not worry about work.

This is a wonderful movie! I had simply expected another Adam Sandler comedy. This is by far much more! The underlying life lessons contained within the film are both gripping and realistic. Adam Sandler effectively portrayed a multi-dimensional character. A movie that made me cry. Wow, that is an accomplishment! Recommend to all movie buffs, casual movie buffs and those who seldomly to never watch movies! Instant classic!
