  Great Iron for Mid-Handicapper

Cleveland TA-5 Gunmetal Irons are a good set of clubs for mid-handicappers!

I bought these irons when I was a 18 handicap and dropped down to a 14 while playing these.

Some of the things I like about these irons:
-The gunmetal finish reduces glare and it just looks cool.
-Dynamic Gold SL shafts perform well with these irons
-Moderatly forgiving irons allow you to still work the ball too

I had a lot of other golfers compliment these irons while playing with them.

If you are looking for a good iron that doesn't cost too much and isn't as big as some of the other game-improvement irons out there today then I would recommend these to anyone.

Good Luck and keep it in the fairway!

I love all cleveland irons, good brand, high quality with resonable price. That's an execellent club set. Easy to hit. Now I own TA6 and am getting CG4.

  Cleveland TA5 GunMetal Irons
Review created: 06/13/09(updated 06/13/09)

I bought a set of these irons a few years back off of ebay. To me, these are probably the most attractive irons I've ever seen, black gunmetal with the beautiful Cleveland logo in white lettering. They're very similar to the Ping eye 2+ model, only much more attractive, and I'm guessing the lofts are all probably one club stronger than Pings, because I hit them about ten yards longer than the eye 2's. I believe club makers have done about all they can do to game improvement irons. So, don't fall to quickly for the next expensice gimmicky set of irons. Save yourself a few bucks, and at least try an older proven set of clubs i.e., Ping eye 2's, Clevelands TA2-3-5-7's, Tommy Armour 845's, Lynx's Parralax, Wilson's Staff/Ultra 45's, a couple of older Ram sets, you get the idea. I've played with all of those irons listed, and quite a few more, and they've all served me well. Bottom line, I find myself drifting back to the more simple designs, and I can honestly say that I find them easier to hit, and more accurate then some of the latest and greatest clubs out there. I hope I didn't ramble too long, and I hope this review was helpful.

  TA5 Gunmetal iron set 3-PW
Review created: 04/08/09

I bought these clubs because they were the best value for the price. I looked at the Maltby Playability Factor and these clubs are the best value/price for Ultra Game Improvement Irons. I absolutely loves these irons! I was one of the lucky few who could actually find them in Gunmetal and in great condition, no rust on my club heads. You can actually remove the rust with WD-40 and a rag without scratching the paint off the clubs like steel wool will do.

Well I worked in a pro shop here in Texas at a local course I purchased a set of Gunmetals at the time I was about a 12hdcp and after I got the clubs my handicap went down to a 9 .... that is why I am buying these gunmetals with graphite shafts easier on the body !

Opinion on Cleveland Irons Purchased for my Son
Review created: 11/05/06

We liked the fact that we got the irons at a good cost. The condition of the irons was a bit worse than we anticipated and no mention was made that they were actually longer than standard size irons. Consequently, we had problems when we tried to get them sized and cut down for my son's use.
