Cleveland Hi-Bore XLS Driver Golf Club

I found several "Buy Now" deals for as little as $250.00. There were even people selling heads only for less than $200.00.

Most if not all of the auctions with heads only were from China or Hong Kong. The sellers had a mixture of feedback with 1 or 2 out of 10 negative due to fake driver. The sellers usually do not have a great number of feedbacks.

The selling method has changed somewhat lately with the fakes being sold by users registered in the USA but still heads only. The other problem now is there have been hundreds if not thousands of fake drivers sold to USA buyers. These buyers are now selling the fakes once they find out. Here is a list of what to look for and how to avoid being sold a fake.

1. Avoid auctions from China and Hong Kong.
2. Avoid any auction for driver head only.
3. Check sellers other items for sale. If they are selling only drivers avoid this seller.
4. Ask seller to provide the serial number. If they do not respond avoid the seller. If they provide a serial number you can email Cleveland customer service and ask if the serial number is legit. Also ask if the serial number has been registered already.
5. Don't be fooled by pictures. The pictures on a fraud auction will not be the driver they are sending.
6. Avoid sellers that are new to Ebay or have really less than 100 + feedbacks selling golf equipment.
7. Avoid any auction for a driver listed in a non golf category. They use this tactic to avoid Ebay dumping the auction.
8. Avoid any 1 day auction with a "Buy Now".

A few of ways to detect the fakes are:

1. The composite top is actually not composite at all. It is paint in a weave pattern to look like a carbon fiber top.
2. No serial number on the hosel.
3. Thin spray painted finish instead of powder coated.

I avoided a fake Driver from a USA seller when I asked for the serial number. I had already won the auction. The seller sent me an email after the auction claiming the driver was damaged. I am sure it was someone trying to unload the mistake on me. Hopefully this may help someone from buying a fake driver as well.

This driver plays like a dream. Drives are straighter, longer, and more accurate. This has taken stokes off of my game and given me the confidence I was looking for to be a better player. Cleveland really hit a home-run with this driver.

Have used the Hibore and the Hibore XL. The XLS does not perform as well
as the XL. Lost distance. Went back to the XL. The XLS is for sale.

I've been hitting a Cleveland Launcher for a couple of years and loved it, but wanted to try a newer model so I purchased the Hi-Bore XLS. FINALLY had a chance to use it this weekend. The SOUND is a penatrating "TING" and the distance is very satisfying. I typically drive around 270 consistently, and this driver is putting on another 20 yds easy. Love everything about it. Feel, sound, grip, shaft, look, and performance...not in that order.

This golf club is the best Driver I have ever hit, it has a neat sound that lets you know that you hit the ball just right. the reason I decided to buy one a golf buddy of mine has one and he let us hit with it, I out drove my ball I hit with my R7 by 40 yards... nothing negitive yet....

Good club, but you really need to hit it a lot to master it or it will be hard to control. When i first got it I was all over with it because of the shaft placement and head design but once you get the hang of it you will see a difference.

Great club. Takes away slice and has a very nice sound on impact. My wife wants one now. Added 30 to m40 yards to my drive and slowed down my swing speed to get sweet hits.

I purchased for another person. He had a Cleveland Hi-Bore XL 10.5 degree stiff(purchased two year earlier) prior to this club. He had no intrest in another brand driver. Prefers XLS over XL as the ball traveled ten to fifteen yards farther with the same feel. Nothing negative to report.

It was in almost better condition than described online. The club itself isn't working out for me but a few more trips to the range should fix it. Great deal.

i decided to buy it because i got more distance from my other diver and i like the sound upon contact with the ball. another reason is the price.

Great price Quaility merchandise . My son has just started playing golf at middle school and we are trying our best to see that he has what he needs to be sucessful at his golf game.

I wanted to try it so I bought it. I like a more conventional looking Driver so I was skeptical from the outset.
I sold it after using it for one round. It is a good driver but certainly I have hit and prefer the feel and look of other Drivers from other Manufacturers.
The Driver I tried was a 9.5* with a Stiff Shaft which might have been too little loft and too stiff a shaft for me. I currently use a 10.5* Driver with a Stiff Fujikura Shaft which fits me ideally. The Hi Bore XLS Driver is a Good Club as far as I am concerned but not an Excellent one.

Bought a driver about a month ago, this one was descrived as a 6 , when i got it, it was in much, much better shape than expected, at least a 7, if not a solid 8.

I like that the club had a great new look and feel. The look was excellent. Shipper sent it right away.

a little on the heavy side , solid hits good control average distance . well made looks like it should last , hitts much better than callaway FTI driver.

12 Handicap I am. Have been playing Titleist 905T for last couple of years and the Cleveland club has no feel in comparison. Ball does fly hot off of face but make sure you have right shaft. The driver and putter are definitely two clubs you have to hit before you buy. Actually lost distance and playability from my Titleist driver. Good club if you kind of suck and want to get better!

Great driver and perfect shaft . Love the fit on red shaft with this head. Ball comes off head with great speed. Was playing Ping G10 with Grafalloy prolauch red. This shaft does not feel as harsh as the Grafalloy. Much easier to control. HIt more fairways.

Loved everything about the club. Club had been used and had some minor scratches but overall the club looked brand new. Club has a loud ping to it and has great distance. I have a bad slice but with this club slice is less fequent and less dramatic. I dont really like the club cover though

I was at the range today and when I was leaving I was talking to a guy who owned one. I took a swing and hit the ball about 20 yards further than my Nike Sasquatch which is a nice club. I ran out and picked up a couple balls to make sure it wasnt a mistake. The 2nd swing was my second longest drive ever. I came home lookrd 1 up on ebay and am bidding on it. It is a nice club.
