  Fake 3 wood
Review created: 08/20/07

Recently bought a hibore 3 wood which when arrived just did not look as well finished as my other Cleveland clubs (drivers and utility). Took it to a local pro who thought the same and when we compared it with a known good club it became obvious it was a fake. The club was a very good fake at that, if I had not had quite a bit of experience and like clibs to compare it with it would have been very hard to tell. It became more apparent when I hit balls with it on the range - a very dull sound, no distance and poor accuracy. The inexperienced golfer could very easily be unaware. Biggest give away was the poor qualilty of the head cover which aomong other things had the dot over the i in hibore out of line and the number tag was soft rubber material and not solid plastic that can be changed with the (should be) supplied tags. I got a refund but a lot of bluff about reputable supplier and japanese spec, etc. Take a close look at photographs before committing and if in doubt don't bid! Take a look at these - different auction but I absolutely guarantee they are fakes - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120151962146&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm37%26satitle%3D120151962146%26fvi%3D1

  Cleveland Hibore XL
Review created: 01/03/08
by:

I highly discourage the purchase of Cleveland Hibore XL drivers on ebay. Ebay has recently become so infested with Chinese golf club counterfeiters that it is not worth the risk. Go to reputable dealer, pay a little extra for piece of mind. I recently got burned on an ebay purchase for a Hibore XL. First time I hit it something broke of inside the head and is moving around inside. Compared it to a Hibore at a dealer and the club didn't come close in length and shaft weight specs, and has small differences in writing on the head itself. Cleveland says I can send it to them for repair, but based on the info I was able to provide them they said it was unlikely that I would get the club back because it appears to be a counterfeit.

If the deal's to good, then it's probably fake. The person I bought mine off of has been suspended by ebay but I'm sure there's plenty of others out there just like him

Cleveland Hi-Bore Fairway 3 and 5 Woods UST V2 Shaft
Review created: 01/30/08(updated 11/17/09)
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

My handicap + 2. My age = 65. Years playing golf = 42. What I like about this club? First of all, I purchased the 2006 model Hi-Bore 10.5 degree driver with the UST ProForce V2 stiff shaft. It has been the BEST driver I've ever used in 40 years. I drive consistently 250 carry + 15 roll yards. I actually liked the scoop back design of the Hi-Bore head. It did not look so massive to me and being more of a traditionalist, I don't like massive looking clubs. That's one reason I purchased the matching 3 and 5 woods with the same shafts. They were more the size of the traditional fairway woods, yet with much better technological design features. The feeling when striking the ball is solid and the ball gets airborn easily, due to the low center of gravity. The 2006 model is smaller than the XL and XLS models which I like. It amazes me why a club manufacturer doesn't keep making a popular and effective design and they bring out 'new' designs every year. More people will buy the 2006 HiBore fairway wood as compared to the XL and XLS models simply because of its smaller size and playability. Both my 3 and 5 wood set up well behind the ball and are very easy to hit. Distance wise, I hit the 15 degree 3 wood about 250 total yards and the 19 degree 5 wood around 220 yards. I prefer the fairway wood design to the modern hybrids mostly because the fairway woods are a more traditional design. I also get more distance with a fairway wood as opposed to a hybrid due to the longer shaft and faster clubhead speed. It's just easier to hit for me. I believe the UST V2 shaft is probably a better shaft than the standard Fujikura shaft that Cleveland puts in their clubs. It's been a great shaft for me in the Hi-Bore driver. I owned a 13 degree Hi-Bore fairway wood with the same shaft but found it's launch angle was too low for me and I actually hit the 15 degree 10 yards further than I hit the 13 degree. Excellent design and still one of the most popular fairway woods being sold on Ebay.

Love the Look, Feel, and Results of FW's & Hybrids
Review created: 04/19/07

I own the 3W & 5W versions. Both of these fairway woods feel and look solid and streamlined, and, more importantly, produce impressive results from the fairway, light rough, and off the tee. I also own the Hi-Bore hybrid 2i, 3i, & 4i clubs, which have a similar look and feel to the fairway woods. Each of the hybrids is so much easier to use than its long-iron counterpart. The Hi Bore fairway woods and hybrids will enable you to achieve good distance and accuracy with all of your long shots and will make an attractive addition to your bag of playing clubs.

  Cleveland Hibore 2 Iron
Review created: 04/02/09
by:
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The product arrived as advertised and on time still in the plastic. The 2 iron adds a club which provides greater distance than a 5 wood and less than a 3 wood. Its low trajectory provides greater length and also provides a straighter club in the bag.
In addition, the club has become very useful in tricky situations such as low hanging branches and tight fairways.
Overall, the Cleveland Hibore brand combines the feel of irons with a a wood which offers slower swing speeds and greater control.
My next purchases will be to add a hibore gap wedge and a 3 wood

I really like the club I purchased. It is what I wanted and was shipped fast. Unfortunatley the cover sent with it is for the hibore driver and is way too big. But the purchase was still worth it!

I am getting a set of Cleveland Hi-Bore Irons and want to get the complete set. I saw this fairway wood for $150 at the golf stores so I decided to go on ebay and look. I outbid and won this item that looks barely used for $50!. The description was perfect.

  Hibore fairway wood purchase
Review created: 10/03/07
by:
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Ebay was a simple process including Pay Pal. I have purchased about 6 golf clubs in hte last 90 days
and each one was as good or better than advertised. About the only problem with the process is
waiting 3-5 days for the UPS truck to stop by with the box. Savings on my last two clubs exceeded
50% off. One club was new and in the wrapping and another was hit about 5 times. I used the
bidding process for one fairway wood and the buy it now feature for the other.

Simple, easy to do, quick delivery, as promised and at a discount.....thanks Ebay!

Last years clubs can come a great discount with a little purchasing knowledge.

  LOVE HIBORE
Review created: 06/07/07

I purchased the Hi-Bore 3 wood after extensive testing of 3 woods. I found this club to be the best club I've purchased. It's produces more distance, has a solid feel and produces straighter shots than what I've previously owned. I tested it in an inside test sight and once I took it outside, well my game average has come down 7 strokes! After day one, I immediately went out and purchased the 5 wood. I'm recommending it to everyone!!

I usually go to a place like Dick's Sporting Goods and look at the clubs I like and then buy them from someone off e-bay. I knew what I was getting when I bid on it.

  Cleveland Hibore 3wood

I decided to add the 3w to my set after buying the Hibore driver. What a outstanding club for the price, I have had troubles hit my 3 wood off the fairway and this club has changed all of that. I would recommend this club to anyone who struggles off the fairway (not to mention the seller - thanks!).

  Phenominal technology!
Review created: 10/20/08

The way the Hibore sets up to the ball makes you feel like you can hit it more easily and it does admirably from all kind of lies even the rough. I would highly recommend. I made sure to get a good shaft that fits my game, the Proforce V2 stiff. The con would be that it doesn't look conventional but I actually think who cares because of how it performs and to me now it has a very modern look that is inviting and easy on the eyes, i find myself looking at them often since they perform better than expectations.

I have many Cleveland clubs extrememly easy to hit! I have a Cleveland driver, 3w, 5w, and 3 hybrids. Confidence is everything and that is what I have with these clubs. They are very forgiving. I hit them very well and only wish I could use them on every hole.

  Cleveland HiBore Hybrid

Purchased this hybrid used but in great condition. This club plays almost as long as my cleveland 5 wood but is much easier to hit and much easier to keep consistent. A great club for the medium to high handicapper. I am 15 handicap and adding this club to may bag has helped me get down to about a 12. Be weary of playing out of the long rough.

1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

i decided to buy the fairway woods because i had already bought the hi bore driver and loved the way it was weighted and felt.the driver took a lot of my slice away so i decided to try out the hi bore fairway woods and i love them as much as i do my driver.there is nothing that i do not like about these clubs.i have hit a bunch of other clubs since i have been golfing and nothing even comes close to these.i have took off around 10 strokes to my game using these.i am not saying that these clubs are for everyone but i just know that there is not another club on the market for me,they are my miracle clubs.i absolutely without a doubt LOVE these clubs.
