      Fake 3 wood

Recently bought a hibore 3 wood which when arrived just did not look as well finished as my other Cleveland clubs (drivers and utility). Took it to a local pro who thought the same and when we compared it with a known good club it became obvious it was a fake. The club was a very good fake at that, if I had not had quite a bit of experience and like clibs to compare it with it would have been very hard to tell. It became more apparent when I hit balls with it on the range - a very dull sound, no distance and poor accuracy. The inexperienced golfer could very easily be unaware. Biggest give away was the poor qualilty of the head cover which aomong other things had the dot over the i in hibore out of line and the number tag was soft rubber material and not solid plastic that can be changed with the (should be) supplied tags. I got a refund but a lot of bluff about reputable supplier and japanese spec, etc. Take a close look at photographs before committing and if in doubt don't bid! Take a look at these - different auction but I absolutely guarantee they are fakes - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120151962146&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm37%26satitle%3D120151962146%26fvi%3D1

      Cleveland Hibore XL
    Review created: 01/03/08

I highly discourage the purchase of Cleveland Hibore XL drivers on ebay. Ebay has recently become so infested with Chinese golf club counterfeiters that it is not worth the risk. Go to reputable dealer, pay a little extra for piece of mind. I recently got burned on an ebay purchase for a Hibore XL. First time I hit it something broke of inside the head and is moving around inside. Compared it to a Hibore at a dealer and the club didn't come close in length and shaft weight specs, and has small differences in writing on the head itself. Cleveland says I can send it to them for repair, but based on the info I was able to provide them they said it was unlikely that I would get the club back because it appears to be a counterfeit.

If the deal's to good, then it's probably fake. The person I bought mine off of has been suspended by ebay but I'm sure there's plenty of others out there just like him
