Cleveland CG14 Black Pearl Wedge Golf Club

Highly recommended! The zip grooves on the wedges I purchased make this an excellent club for a broad variety of shotmaking features - chipping, lob shots, etc. and allow aggressiveness around the green.

I now own a 50 degree Cleveland CG14 wedge, a 54 degree, and a 60 degree. Once I hit two chip-ins during one round w/the CG14 60 degree, I was hooked. The yellow gel-back insert in these wedges provide an amazing feel during impact, the insert reduces vibration, and not to mention look so sweet in your back (especially the wedges w/ the Black Pearl finish). The CG14s have a tour offset which is hard to even notice on a wedge, but if you like just a bit of offset, then these will do the trick. The Zip Grooves on these CG14s are 25% larger than usual "U" grooves, and these grooves are PERFECT for players that expect optimal spin. Put it this way: Kenny Perry, a PGA Tour pro, uses nothing but Taylor Made equipment, and a Ping Putter...but Kenny Perry uses a Cleveland CG14 60 degree wedge, and he still has a Taylor Made 56 degree and a 64 degree wedge in the bag too. That's how amazing these wedges are.

I was not too impressed with the Z groove. I think the club is over rated. I would have been deeply disaapointed if I paid full price for it, but eBay made it bearable.

Brought wedges to Golftown,they said they were counterfit.

I received this Cleveland CG14 52 degree wedge about three weeks ago to match the Cleveland irons I purchased previously.I like the feel of the club but I don't like the distance I get out of it, for some reason I hit my sand wedge just as far. I bought it to fill in the gap between my pitching and sand wedges, but so far I haven't been able to get the distance I need.

The best scoring wedge in my bag. Tested one at a golf expo. Wanted one but they were a little pricey. A Great Buy!

I've used cleveland wedges before, never will for the life of me figure out why I changed. Any golfers out there, I would recommend you give them a try. I felt the price was excellent, especially after shopping around.

I built and used soft carbon steel wedges with graphite shafts, because they matched the graphite shafts on the rest of my golf clubs. I heard great things about these wedges but was hesitant to buy them because they had steel shafts. I tried one in a golf shop and liked it so bought three (50, 56 and 60 degree) CG-14's on e-bay.
These wedges feel, look and work fantastic, especially for seniors with slower swing speeds. The deep, square grooves put extra spin on the golf ball, which really makes it check up nicely on the green. Also, the yellow insert prevents a harsh or sting feel if a club is mis-hit.
I have never had a bad experience when using e-bay. However, I usually use the "buy now" option and buy only from sellers with many sales and a satisfaction rate of at least 97%.

Whether coming out of the sand or rough, these wedges perform better than any other. Plus, they will be legal till 2024 for all the hackers.

I was looking for a club that would cover the distance between my sand wedge to my pitching wedge and after having great success with a Cleveland sand wedge I started looking for a gap wedge on Ebay. I place a bid that was lower than the price I saw at the local golf shop and won the bid. I'm very happy with the purchase I won on Ebay and will always check with them first. Now I have the club that will give me the distance and control I'm looking for.

Cleveland's CG14 wedges are great and have a lot of bite around the greens, with the new USGA regulations kicking in next year it's going to be hard to find the zip groves in the future so stock up now..
This set completes my setup of 4 wedges..

Overall this is an awesome golf club. Great balance and feel that you expect from top line cleveland wedges. I give this club a 5/5 in performance and playability, but overall only a 4/5 since the black pearl finish wears off so quickly. It doesn't affect the performance at all, but since looks still count for a lot, it's hard to see your almost new club looking worn after only a few rounds of play. i would recommend this club to anyone, though if your all about looks, perhaps the chrome finish would be a better choice.

It looks good, good groves. Club was chip at all. It was in good shape. I would buy a other club for him again.

I've always liked cleveland golf wedges. My son inherited my other gap wedge so I had to buy another one. I started buying on ebay in july of 09 and got a great deal on this wedge. As far as playability, I get about 90-100 yards, which is about right for me. The ball checks up great whether coming in low or a normal high shot. It has a nice heavy flange so you get a good bounce off the club. The club comes with zip grooves which will give you more spin than conventional grooves. The loft on the club I got was 52 degrees, good for a gap wedge. I bought the CG14 irons the year before so this matches my set. I'm sure there are alot of good wedges and wedge sets out there, but I've been playing with cleveland wedges for quite a few years now and they've held up great for me. I hope this review helps out and enjoy your golf season.

I've such great success with my TA7 cleveland irons that I decided to upgrade my wedges. I picked up a CG14 56 degree wedge at a great price. Wow. What a club. My previous wedge was an Alien standard 2 dot 56 wedge. The CG14 is a much heavier club, a slightly bigger face, and a wider base. It has really given me the ability to chip those 15-20yd pitches with much greater accuracy. First time out with this wedge my score went from 80+ to 75 on my first round. I really like the control and accuracy this club provides. I'm on the lookout for a CG14 gap wedge now!!

Cleveland is a solid brand, club looks great! Zip groves are a gimmick I think, but it is an great club to get up and down from 50-60 yards in.
