Cleveland CG10 Black Pearl Wedge Golf Club

This is definately a fantastic model. The CG10 Black Pearl range is designed to reduce glare from the sun and be a slightly softer metal than its Satin-Chrome counterpart. However the only disadvantage is noticed with this club is that after a few months the "black" substance eventually gives way to all the usual scuffing that normal golf play creates and thus the glare does not really reduce that well, and still shines in your face somewhat.

The feel of the club is fantastic, and its weighted a little heavier than most wedges, but if you try the Low Bounce model on tight lies its sooo good, that you can get the ball to stop dead on the second bounce, almost like clock work. The back spin was not as good as the Callaway equivalent that I tried, but it definately was a lot smoother feeling, in that it sort of jumps off the head, almost like its not even hitting the ball because it hits so pure that you don't notice it, until its sitting up snuggled next to the hole, or in it.

The shafts are usually stock Cleveland Wedge flex, and are really great to play out of bunker shots provided you get the Medium bounce model, which I would strongly recommend. The 60 degree version of the club, is magic if you can use it, its like watching a pro play. It also inspires confidence with its sleek design and muscle feel to it as it punches the ball from the rough, although I usually don't use wedges from the rough, the high bounce and 52 - 50 versions were without flaws and proved infalable if hit even slightly off centre, which is the main selling point.

I found most off-centre hits would even produce fairly quickly stopping characteristics. Obviously with these as still being fairly new it might cost a bit to get a full set, but definately a good idea to perhaps get a 56 degree wedge and a 48/50 degree if you only want to buy 2.

Cleveland came out with this model with a few different options.
Lofts were: 60 58 56 54 52 50 48 46
The 'Bounce' models were:
1 Dot = Low Bounce
2 Dots = Medium Bounce
3 Dots = High Bounce

The bounces are important, and I found the high bounce a little too off putting and hard to use on anything but very soft and high lies. But probably a better option would be medium bounce and/or low depending of course entirely on what kind of turf you'll be playing mainly on, but if you like most people you don't have the money to just throw away on different bounce/loft options etc, so just see if you can try a demo model at a golfing shop with those fake grass matts with the very rough/rough/medium and tight lie options to try on.

And please please, if you are going to purchase a fancy club like this one, just make sure you use a SOFT ball that is either a 4-piece or 3-piece ball, or you aren't going to really see the full benefits of what this club can do. In other words, try to get a Titleist Pro V1 or a Callaway Rule 35, Strata Tour Ace, or any ball that is called a "softie" or a "strata" ball.

I've used other Cleveland wedges and Taylor Made Rac TP wedges. These new Cleveland CG10 wedges (52 & 56) are by far the best wedges that I have ever used before. I can pick them off the fairways and out of the roughs with ease and accuracy. Plus, they are outstanding out of the greenside sand traps. For chipping, short or long wedge shots, or blasting out of the sand, these CG10 wedges are amazing. I am totally satisfied with my purchases. I would recommend these wedges to anyone. Trust them and they will reward you.

I joined EBAY to buy new golf clubs and having tried Cleveland Clubs before i knew they are my favorite. They are standard bounce 2 DOT and are great. I am very satisfied with the difference thay have made in my game and would gladly recommend anyone use Cleveland Wedges.

I was looking for a 52 degree wedge & i tried this Cleveland CG10 & loved the balance & performance of it.

I have purchased two sets of cg-10 cleveland wedges in the past month both set were counterfeit beware when purchasing golf clubs these days there are too many fakes being sold on e-bay, I was also talking with my club repair shop and he has seen several sets come into his shop. E-bay needs to clean up this problem, I've purchased many clubs on e-bay in the past with out trouble but recently the problem has gotten out of hand.

The newest design from Cleveland Golf, this CG10 wedge is lighter and easier to hit. Although the shot length for me is slightly less than the Tour Action models, I personally feel that this CG10 has a more consistent distance control and is more manageable on tight lies around the green. The low/mid/high bounce options are a big improvement and this allows for a wider variety of golfers to customize their wedges to their game, rather than trying to manufacture a shot with an otherwise inconsistent swing based on the course conditions or the particular bad lie in the rough or hardpan. I'm glad I found this latest innovation in golf from Cleveland because it has changed my game and made the thought process easier when faced with a difficult shot chip shot.

These clubs are well manufactured, have great weight distribution and are helping me to score better.

The whole CG10 line wedge line is great. Huge selection of lofts and bounce options to get exactly what you need in a wedge. Used to play Titleist Vokey's but once you experience what the ball feels like off this club, you'll never go back! Black Pearl finish is great to keep glare from disrupting your game.

I STUMBLED ON TO THE CG10 WEDGES IN A DEMO DAY.. IN A WORD, AWSOME! IVE PLAYED MANY WEDGES, AND LET ME TELL YOU THESE WEDGES ARE ALL THEY CLAIM AND THEN SOME! I BOUGHT THE BLACK PEARL VERSION MY SELF, BUT THE STAINLESS CG10'S ARE THE SAME. IT WAS JUST PERSONAL PREFERENCE FOR ME TO BUY THE BLACK PEARLS. THESE WEDGES ARE SO SOFT FEELING. I MEAN WEDGES ARE A SOLID FORGED FOR THE MOST PART, BUT THESE CG10'S ARE OBVIOUSLY A CUT ABOVE THE REST. I WAS QUITE IMPRESSED WITH THE CMM METAL THEY USE. WHEN I FIRST READ BOUT THE CARBON METAL MATRIX PROCESS THEY USE, IM THINKIN YEAH SURE ANOTHER GIMMICK. I WAS SORELY MISTAKEN. THERE TRULY IS A DIFFERENCE. VERY SOFT.. BUTTERY SOFT I MIGHT ADD. These clubs are everything and more of what they are talked up to be. They have a great feel to them. When you strike the ball, you can tell exactly how far you hit it, and where it is going to land on the green. These clubs allow you place and work the ball any way you like to. They have very large, sharp grooves, and so sticking your ball where you want it is not a problem. The only downside to these grooves is that they WILL eat up your golf balls. They take a nice little layer off each time you hit the ball, and you can tell this before you even see the ball because part of your ball will be still on the face of the club. Other than that, there is not much more you can go wrong with when you purchase these clubs. I have the 52, 56, and 60 degree in a 2 dot, 3 dot, 3 dot, respcectively. Great clubs!

Awesome club! One of the most versatile clubs in my bag. Open the face to change loft or close it down to decrease loft which allows it to be used for more than one type of shot. Very high quality material in the cmm manufacturing. The black pearl finish is a must on them sunny days to reduce glare. Trust the quality of cleveland on the course!!

Wedge had been used a great deal, however seller did say it was used . Recieved it in good time and was as advertised. I would buy from him again...
