Clean and Sober (DVD, 1998)

Michael Keaton was excellent in this movie, this movie was very informative, I bought it for a family member who also has an addiction.....I would watch it again.......and by the way IT WAS SO FUNNY IN SPOTS!!!!!! Humerous-----but Serious

I really love the way the desperation and despair of an addict in active addiction is described in this movie, and also how the solution through The 12 Steps is presented here. Michael Keaton gives a really great performance that really makes you belive that he's been out there, and that he has experienced active addiction himself. I decided to buy this DVD because I'm a recovering addict myself, and I can really relate to the story-line of this movie. The only negative thing I can think of, is the fact that there are no sub-titles on this dvd. Thanks, FriendOfJimmyK.

I lvoe this movie, it's out of character for Michael Keaton whereas he's not playing a wild lunatic funnyman. This movie is realistic, gritty and deep. He is a doped up drunk that accidentally overdoses a girl on a drug binge. he decides to hide out in a drug rehab and trick them into to thinking he is an addict when he thinks he isn't. He has a romance that ends badly and realizes that he truly was an addict. Spectacular movie, Keaton deserved an oscar nomination for this one.

This is a great movie, that was hard to get for my collection. The price was great and it arrived as descibed. I look forward to watching it later.

Kathy Baker, Michael Keaton and Morgon Freeman are excellent in this story of a man (Keaton) caught stealing money from his company. Being merciful, the company decides to get him help rather than throw him in prison. Refusing to believe he has a problem, tension mounts between him and his counsellor (Freeman). Friendships do develope and tragedies occur as this poignant movie climaxes with a stirring speech by Keaton.
Highly recommended for anyone who may have a family member or friend who may be struggling with believing they are addictted or not.

This movie is excellent for anyone in any stage of sobriety. I saw this originally when I was getting sober back in 1988. Even after being sober for nearly 16 years, this movie can still hit home when you are in a bad place or in a negative frame of mind.
Very bold and honest, no candy coating on this film.

I would recommend this to anyone that has an addiction issue no matter the behavior and anyone feeling insecure about their personal sobriety.
