Classic Fat-Wreck punk record
Review created: 06/08/06(updated 06/08/06)

This is your basic skate-punk record, twelve songs which are over in half an hour, included among them a cover which would more than likely disgust the original artist. Propagandhi have always told it as it is, and this record, being their oldest, features some of their snottiest work to date. The sound is almost indistinguisable from your basic NOFX punk rock song, although Propagandhi have always been openly political in their songwriting approach. The crux of the record and really, Propagandhi in a nutshell, can be found during the seventh song on the album, titled "Stick the F*cking Flag Up Your Godd*mned Ass, You Sonofabitch," with the lines:
"You carry their anthem convinced that it's yours.
Invitation to honor. Invitation to war.
Bette Midler now assumes sainthood.
Romanticize murder for moral.
Tie a yellow ribbon 'round the oak tree my friend.
And 'Gee Wally, that's swell!'
F*ck the troops to hell."
Vehemently pacifist, vegan and environmentally aware, Propagandhi are almost like punk rock hippies. This record offers a great introduction to Propagandhi, or it can also serve as a great addition to your lineup if you're only familiar with their later records.
I suggest that you learn "How to Clean Everything" and pick up this disc.
