Charming, funny, down to Earth- Jennifer Saunders best work yet! Can't wait for next season! Dawn French is outstanding! All the charactors are richly developed and it is a real joy watching this show.

) I checked out this DVD at the library, fell in love with the quant story of life in a small town in northern England, just had to have it, the DVD that I bought on Amazon was used but was in great condition, thanks alot

I always enjoy Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. This series is not shown on our local PBS.It was funny and so typically British.

Dawn French: Scene Stealer
This is an odd show but I love it.
Actually, it is a pretty nice drama. I was really expecting a comedy, but that's okay. And there are some seriously funny moments. (Like when Dawn French finds the Jesus shaped potato!)
Joanna Lumley is in this show as well as Jennifer Saunders, but they play minor roles. The story is mostly about a middle aged widow and her best friend and how her children are generally bad people. It's complicated.
