Reviews All of the tracks on this CD are outstanding. My favorite is the duet with Louie Armstrong. The combined talents of these two artists in the rendition of Wonderful World in unforgetable. I'm a huge Kenny G fan and have everything he's released but this is one of my favorites. Kenny takes an array of classics and sets them to a mood. Report this review Review created: 02/21/00 by: Lark729_89 -- a member of Epinions Pros: Relaxing music, great sax performer Cons: none at all A sense of profound relaxation washes through my mind when I listen to Kenny G's music. This haunting saxophonist with his hypnotic style lulls me to sleep with his soothing passionate music. Kenny G's "Classics In The Key Of G" arrived in the stores quite some time ago in June of 1999. I already had a few of his CD's, one that I especially like is the soundtrack album of the movie "Dying Young" which was released in 1991. "Classics In The Key Of G" offers the most beloved song of all "What A Wonderful World" ~ Louis Armstrong sings along with the soft playing music of Kenny's saxophone.... Cons: None What caught my eye first about this CD was two songs,"Over The Rainbow" and "What A Wonderful World". These two are my favorites on this CD. This CD is a Re-make of some Classic songs Kenny G heard as a child growing up in Seattle while learning to play the saxophone. There are Ten Listed songs on this CD. There is a surprise after the Tenth song. If you wait about fifteen seconds another song will play. "The Girl From Ipanema". This same song is on the list of Ten,but is sung by Bebel Gilberto. The version at the end is all instrumental. Some of these songs I know, but about half of them I... Review ID: 10000000000267583 Review created: 12/17/99 by: rhuf799547 -- a member of Epinions Pros: nice, nostalgic work. Cons: repetitive and commercial I have been following Kenny G's career for sometime now and respect his playing abilities and thought provoking writings. The Classics album is a nice collection of old favorites which Kenny does a fairly nice job with. He has again showed his ability to perform with passion and technique. The downside of this album is that Kenny duplicates many of the riffs he uses on his past albums which was very disappointing. He has gotten himself into the groove of everything sounding the same and did not offer any "new" inspirations on this Classic cd. If you have not previously enjoyed Kenny's... Renditions of The Look of Love, Stranger on The Shore, Over the Rainbow, and others are done in his inimitable style and with all his usual flair and verve. Whether you are relaxing after a long day, spending time with that special someone, or just want some music on for background, you will like every aspect of this effort by an excellent artist. Kenny G. continues to be a solid contributor to the music scene and everyone who purchases this will enjoy it - as much or even more than his earlier... (I've talked about the album THIS TIME. I SWEAR, so come in take a look) You know what p***es me off? When a musician, after spending his entire goddamn career playing syrupy tunes, grooving with michael 'how am i s'pposed ta live without cha' bolton and being on MTV with diabetes-inducing chocolatey looks AND locks (of hair), enters the 'hey-folks-lookee-here-i-can-p Review ID: 10000000000267585 Epinions.com ratings are not included in the item's average rating.
