Many Hot Tuna shows have been bootlegged and circulated among fans since the beginning of the band in 1969, but two of the most popular remain their "unplugged" set on KSAN-FM (San Francisco) on April 30, 1971 and their July 3, 1971 show at the Fillmore West (the last show at the venue before its reopening nearly 25 years later). The shows were released together in edited form through Relix Records back in '85 (one side acoustic, the other side electric), but in 1996, Relix reissued the set as two separate discs--CLASSIC ACOUSTIC and CLASSIC ELECTRIC. The electric edition of the two-part series shows the band in fine form, rocking out on such Tuna stage standards as "Uncle Sam's Blues," "Candyman," and "John's Other." You'll discover one of Hot Tuna's finest shows of the early '70s by playing CLASSIC ACOUSTIC back-to-back with CLASSIC ELECTRIC.
