Not happy with sound quality.

I have slightly below average hearing, and therefore I need a phone that boosts the incoming sound volume so that I would have an easier time of understanding what my callers are saying to me. I bought the Ameriphone CLS-45i because of all the advertising hype that promised not only louder incoming volume, but clearer, more understandable sound. I was terribly disappointed. Yes, the phone does amplify the incoming sound, but the voices sound "mechanical", almost robotic. When I turn on the "Amplify" function, then things go from bad to worse. The anti-feedback circuitry causes such a long delay between my talking and listenting to the incoming caller, that it cuts out a few seconds of the person's conversation. I tried various degrees of amplification levels, and I experimented with switching the Amplify function on and off, but it still has the same problems as I stated. I would like to find an amplified phone that doesn't alter the tone quality of the incoming audio, and that doesn't cause delays from anti-feedback circuitry or other gimmicks. I have used other models of Ameriphone and Clarity (same manufcaturer?) but with similar disappointing results. I will never buy another Clarity or Ameriphone product again.
