Clarissa Explains It All - Season One (DVD, 2005)

This is great for kids, or us 20 somethings that remember Nick when it was cool.

I met Clarissa (Melissa Joan Heart) & Ferguson at Universal Studios when I was a weeee lad.

Before Lizzie McGuire...before Hannah Montana...there was CLARISSA, the original tween role model to all girls 10 and up. Each episode was an adventure in pre-teen angst dealing lightly and humorously with issues on puppy love, peer pressure, independence and yes...ACNE! Great early 90's show that is still relatable and not dated. Melissa Joan Hart brings an endearing quirkiness to a character who follows the beat of a different drummer and is definately a leader instead of a follower. I recommend this series to any tween who wants a change from all the cookie cutter shows on today!

If you grew up in the 80s watching Nickelodeon, than this review is pointless; just buy the DVD and relive your season 1 memories of the Darling family antics.

Clarissa is the cool 80s teenager. She has confidence, her own sense of style, and a knack for user her computer to create simulation games. Sure, she has to deal with her annoying younger brother Ferguson and wholesome parents, but with her friend Sam and some innovation, you know Clarissa will get through the trials of growing up.

The season 1 DVD will introduce you to the Darling family and have you falling in love with Clarissa as she tries to find the perfect outfit to express herself for school photo day and sell Chrismas cards (in July) to raise money. Though weak on extras, it's great to be able to watch these epidoes whenever you want.

This show was a great show for kids in the 90's. I bought this DVD and it brings back so many memories. Watching Clarissa brings happy memories to when life was better, and Nickelodeon was AWESOME! Thanks again! :))

the actors were still on the learning curve when this was done but it is still a nice show I personaly enjoy shows that are not full of sex violence and homosexuality if that is what you are looking for you should enjoy this if you want more action check out flight 29 down.
