Civil War Battles: Campaign Gettysburg (PC Games)

This game is pretty much a computer version along the lines of the old SPI boardgames like Terrible Swift Sword from the 70s and 80s. If you played and loved those games you'll love this one even more--its like TSS, but WITHOUT all the paperwork (the computer keeps track insted). The Designer, John Tiller, did a series for Talonsoft games first, then went to the company HPS which is producing a series of these CAMPAIGN civil war games. The improvement over the Talonsoft games is that the HPS games enable you to engage in a campaign that then leads to a series of battles. So as you manuever around Pennsylvania, you may or may not end up in a battle at Gettysburg. Most likely, you will, and the campaign game shows you why--Gettysburg is a major crossroads that draws troops to the area (much like Bastogne in the Battle of the Bulge). So you learn a lot while having fun as well! Highly recommended.
