City of Villains (PC Games, 2005)

This is a really fun game if you want to play mmorpg without all the mid-evil stuff... lets face it every mmorpg game out there is stuck in the past!

This game is easy to play & understand. Its one of the few online mmorpg games set in modern times, & allows FULL costumization of your character.

People complaining about the time it takes to make a character are missing half the fun of the game, you'll find dressing your "toon" one of the highlights of the game. As you progress in the game you gain more costume options

Capes
Auras
extras costume slots (you can currently have 5 differnt looks)
Wings (after 15 months of paid/played game time)
etc....

lots of new content added every 6 months or so.

this is a game worth trying if you are still thinking about do so :)

I started playing City of Heros 18 months ago after pressure from my husband to try it out. Well, I'm hooked! Because City Of Heros was offering extra character slots and costume options and no additional monthly fee, I decided to purchase 2 copies.

I've been trying it out for about 6 months now and I am less than enthuiastic about this game. I actually dread the nights my husband was to be a "villian" because I would much rather be a hero!

There really isn't anything wrong with the game per se. But after playing City of Hero's for as long as I have, I just prefer it over City of Villians. But either way, it is definitely beneficial to own a copy of both!

Ok Every Hero needs a Villain, And with City Of Villains you can be that Villain. This game brings Player Vs Player (PVP) to the City Of Hero. There are three zones soon to be four where your Villain will be able to facer of with Player Heroes.

Using the same gaming system for the Award Winning City of Heroes You will be able to create the Villain of your dreams, and the nightmares of heroes using the nearly limitless customization tools.

Once your done you'll want to build your villainous organization and whats a villainous group with out a secret stronghold, you will be able to build your Fortress of Evil.

Are you Villainous enough to face off with Statesman.

They Haven't forgotten you Heroes. How can you heroes face the awesome might of these new Villains? You can also build your own Hall of Freedom, your Superhero Base to plan those missions and regroup after the battles, using your teleporters to launch suprise attacks on your Villanious counterparts.

This game requires a membership fee of $15--every month. I knew it was an online game when I bought it, but did not realize it would be costing more than the purchase price. I read everything in the sellers listing and all of the reviews, but this was never mentioned. Unfortunately I bought City of Heroes at the same time and I now know it has the same monthly playing fee. Perhaps I am ignorant and naive, but there are probably others who will not understand this either. This is a racket. It is not worth the $15/month fee (it is a little less per month if you are willing to pay for longer periods in advance) Small consulation--It comes with 30 days free play + 14 days of free play for City of Heroes.

I received the Pc game within like a week with everything in it no Complaints Here. Thanks man.....................................

If you like never ending adventures this is the game for you. Create your character, train them up & kick ass. Fantastic game 9/10

One of NCSofts ploys to get at the best parts of City of Heroes, is that you MUST purchase City of Villains! The feature I am talking about is SuperGroup Bases. You just can't enter them in City of Heroes, unless you own a copy of City of Villains. After much pressure NCSoft did eliminate the monthly fee for CoV if you already own CoH, which was very nice of them. CoV is a fun diversion from CoH, get it -- it's good. Of course, you MUST get this if you ever want to make your own SuperGroup base!

Unfortunately I have not been able to install this game. The vendor advertises that the game is NEW. However when I try to install the game on my computer I get a message telling me that the installation program is corrupted.

So I can't tell you how the game is.
Now I will add that I have not been able to install DirectX9 on my computer either and am currently working on the issue with Microsoft. This is on a brand new computer I might add. Ho hum....
I decided to buy it because the new computer has an Agia Physicx Processor and this game is one that was listed as supporting this feature . That's why I bought it. I am just sad that it doesn't work.

City of Villians is the sequal to City of Heroes. Villians allows you to become a bad guy and do various things like rob banks and beat down heroes. The game itself in my opinon is better that hereos. The best part about villians is the ability to be bad. Like hereos, villans allows you to create a character from scratch. This MMO is highly recommened if you like games about super heroes and super villinas. The only bad thing i can say about it is that the minimum system requiremnts to run the game well are double of City of heroes. Other than that this is a great game.

This is a great game. Not really hard and usually more friendly players then non friendly. Huge supergroups to join and tons of people just playing different styles.
There are a lot of places on the internet to readup all the new things happening in the game.
If you buy an account online all you have to do is pay with a credit card and it changes the NCSOFT account password. Then you can change the password on the account in the game. This is great and protects the buyers really easily. I know this because I let a friend (no longer one) borrow an account and he changed the ncsoft password so I no longer could add time to the game. So it is safe to get the game off the net as long as you get the birthday, so you can change the game password.

Not only can you create your own villians, amass an army of anything from undead to robots, create your own evil layer, but ya get to kick the good guys boutts!!!

The game has everything!!! That and the world is absolutely huge with endless possibilities for expansions!!! A must have!!!

Selling cov on ebay i think is a mistake. For one because if you buy it used, unless you know that seller personally, you wont know if thewy go to play nc and re-change there password, then your purchase will be for nothing! Its a great game, but only if you purchase it new!!!

Great Gameplay, awsome graphics. The character creation is 150/100, Simply awsome awsome awsome awsome awsome awsome awsome awsome awsome awsome awsome awsome. Did I say great gameplay?

This game is really fun and a refreshing change from the regular Fantasy MMORPG. Also the little figurine that came with the game is pretty cool.

I bought the free bonus HeroClix figure that came in the box and told the seller to keep the actual game.

Ghost Widow is a great HeroClix figure A+++++ 5 stars. One of the best Support figures in the game. She Support with decent attack values, 6 range and 2 damage, Poison, Flying with Phasing/Teleport, a few clicks of Regeneration late dial, and the Anachronos Team Ability (works like Mystics) all for 54 points.
