Merle Evans conducted the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Baily Circus Band for over 50 years, and never missed a performance. There was nobody then or since who knew the circus and it's music life-force like maestro Evans. This recording is of but a relatively rare few that have him conducting an extremely talented group in a recording studio. The circus spirit, energy and panache practically comes jumping out. Many try, but few get it right. This is the real McCoy.
