An Interesting Side of the Martial Arts

Originally conceived by Bruce Lee, Circle of Iron is the tale of a fighter seeking enlightenment. The main character, Cord (Jeff Cooper), is a rogue martial artists on a quest to find the Book of Enlighenment. Along the way, he encounters several other fighters who teach him aspects of Zen Philosophy.
While, I enjoyed this movie, it is certainly not for everybody. The average movie goer looking for fast, precise martial arts action will probably be disappointed; the fights are not on par with other martial arts films of its era, and the movie has a slow pace. The Zen messages woven into the story are quite intriguing though, and the dialogue associated with them have some good, humorous moments. The extras are actually pretty good for such an older movie. The 2-Disc edition includes trailers, TV spots, commentary, and interviews.
If you're looking for a different kind of martial arts movie that actually deals with the heart of martial arts, this won't disappoint. Though the movie is so out there at times, most will probably find it either too boring or too weird.
