Highly recommended and poorly written

A most wonderful story which is very hard to read. The story is one of those easily overlooked stories of children and adolescents who survive the destruction of the Warsaw, Poland, Jewish ghetto and survive WWII under the noses of the German occupiers. Really a heartwarming and inspiring story if you spend the time to figure out what is really happening. The story is often disjoint and the children are hard to track through the story. As an amatuer WWII history buff, I like to find stories like this one, and do recommend it to someone like myself. If you're looking for a well-told, feel-good story, you'll need to read and re-read to figure out what's going on. This is such an important lesson for our day, that people thrown together by events outside their control can survive by supporting each other, yet the story is easily lost in the telling. I think a good editor could make this a very interesting book. A good screenwriter could turn this into a film on par with "The Pianist." I will be first in line at the openning.
