Chronicles of Riddick (DVD, 2004, Unrated Director's Cut - Widescreen)

From an action standpoint, the films do not lack anything. Riddick is the bad *** anti-hero that we would all like to be sometimes and they couldn't have cast the parts any better. There are some similarities between the Necros in TCOR and the Borg in the latter Star Trek movies, but who cares? David Twohy put a great spin on the Necro collective and I am eagerly awaiting another sequel. Anyone who likes Scifi and enjoys fantastic visuals will love this movie.

Taking a trip into the sci-fi world of the Chronicles of Riddick is to become philosophical and question the reality that we are in now. It makes one question what is good and evil--and what is the balance that is necessary to keep everything in balance! One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Vin Deisel plays the character of Riddick so well--a murder with animal instinct of a concious--that deep down does have a heart. Very interesting, very action packed and a MUST SEE. This movie is action packed, extreme cinematography, and a classic good vs evil with a twist. This movie is under rated all to often. If you like action movies this is a must see.

The Uncut version is definitely better than the regular theatrical version. It explains more about Riddick and why he is the way he is. Vin does a great job in this movie. I hope that he makes a third.

This should have been the version in the theatres. I recondmend this version of movie. It goes in to more detail and introduces more aspects.The visuls were great. I liked it better than Stars Wars.

The scope was phenomenal. Director David Twohy had a vision that was so grand and yet he managed to pull it off. The scenery was otherworldly but you felt these places existed. Planet Crematoria (the prison planet Riddick travels to where sunrise brings temperatures to 700 degrees on the surface) was breathtakingly beautiful and horrible. Imam's home planet was so lovely, you would love to explore it.
Each character was meticulously crafted, from Riddick all the way down to the convict in charge at the prison. There was history in each one, such that you wanted to see a movie about their lives, and what brought them to this point and their interaction with Riddick. The additional footage in the unrated version completes the movie. It makes a good movie. Great.

In the unrated version, a couple of new scenes are added which is pretty cool, overall this movie is pretty good. watch Pitch Black for the whole story.

A very good action film. I like science fantasy and action in a movie and this one had plenty of both.

The price was definitely better than any others I saw on eBay. The shipping of this item was super fast, and arrived without any problems whatsoever. The item was in perfect condition, and I enjoy it completely!

This director's cut fills in many blanks from the usual DVD. The extra 15 minutes makes a fine action movie into a fantastic action movie.

For scifi, this is one of the best movies I've seen. The special effects are great as well as the story. Probably Vin's best movie.

Just a perfect sci-fi movie. Vin should absolutely make another. Please, please do! This movie was way better than most regular Hollwood crap. Maybe that's why the big film companies tried to make it flop. But, it just gets more and more popular as more people get to see it. An all-time classic already! The Necros of real-life don't like being exposed i think ;-)

See "Find Me Guilty" too....not sci-fi, but another great low-budget movie with integrity by an underrated and talented Vin D.

I absolutely love this movie. The directors cut is great. One of his best movies. The action is good and the effect are fabulous. This is a must have for any Vin Diesel fan.

I had seen a small part of the movie on television and wanted a copy for myself. If you are a Vin Diesel fan, this is one to have. It is a very good science fiction movie about good and evil, and the hero has to make a decision which side to take. He goes through the first half of the movie having you thinking that he is a cold blooded killer and cares only about himself. Favorite line in movie is "you keep what you kill." Many special effects and fight scenes to keep your interest peaked for most of the movie. Recommend for older teenagers and adults because of violence.

Vin Diesel is the perfect actor to star in the role of Riddick. Fast action with fiction. Takes you out of your everyday life and into another demention. Bought this as a Birthday gift for my hubby and we both love it. Thumbs way up !!

EXCELLENT! Vin Diseal shines in this movie. More action sequences and suspense in the galactic universe promotes a polished film. Good Replay Value.

I own 4 different versions because ebay gives me sellers with different versions, the stores don't, plus store prices are much higher. You can watch this movie and it is totally complete without seeing Pitch Black.
This is one of the best sci-fi, survival of the fittest movies ever made. The editing is wonderful, it sets a great pace. The attire of the future is believable and wonderful. The massive scope is a movie in it's self. The fear of this master races leader is just wonderful, the fact that Diesel is such a thorn in this leaders side is a source of pleasure through the entire movie. The special effects are indescribable. I watch this movie along with about 9 others (not at the same time) about twice a year; just to learn more 'as I do, each time I watch it' I am amazed that Hollywood didn't get the movie; then on second thought. The current foder is " Vin Diesel turns down a for sure money maker for a sci-fi romp, well everyone isn't in it for the money, and it's becoming real evident who is and who is not. Sci-fi fans, here is another classic.

GREAT FOLLOW FROM THE FIRST FILM. LOTS OF ACTION, GOOD STORY. LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE MOVIE, NO DISLIKES..VIN DISEL IS AWESOME.

I loved the movie Chronicles of Riddick so I naturally had to purchase the director's 3 disk cut. I was expecting some great new scenes but to be honest I couldn't really tell which scenes were new as they were not memorable or even really important ones such as the ones on the Lord of the Rings director's cuts. Riddick is your classic macho in-your-face character who can back up what he says. This is your classic live by the sword, die by the sword space epic. Definitely worth owning and the graphics don't disappoint and the Necromongers sexy in a barbaristic sort of way. The cast is superb with no miscasts, and the character Toombs is exceptional as Riddick's in hot pursuit mercenary.

i like action movies. i bought the movie because mark vincent( Vin Diesel) plays in the movie. i am a huge fan of his, he is a great actor. and he is very hot. the movie is great.
