The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (Playstation 3, 2009)

this is an action packed game its for teens and adults it will keep you wanting to play and losing track of time its awesome all the way around its horror, violence and actions anyone that loves these things will adore this game.

This is a pretty solid game, for a decent price you get 2 games, it has a revamped Buther's Bay, and an all new Dark Athena! Both games are very fun to play and there are lots of things to collect and stuff to do. Dark Athena is obviously the better of the 2 and you will have more fun playing it. the multiplayer is where it lacks a little bit pretty much because its not heavily played, and 2 ridiculous trophies, still fun to play with 5 different modes, when you can get a match going...

This game is excellent. It is addictive and mind blowing. But there is too much mature content (language only) sometimes. so it is better to play this when kids are not around you. If you like FPS games, then this one is a must buy.

Decent Game probably only worth a rent but for the right price it could definately be worth it. This disc includes two games in one. The popular 2004 xbox only release of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and the new Assult on Dark Athena. I've played butcher bay when it orginally came out and its worth the price of this double pack alone. The new expansion had the possiblity to be a great stealth combat game. It starts out really strong with the shadow play and great stealth kills but slowly starts giving you guns and other ramdom weapons which turns the game into yet another bland shooter with set coarse of destruction and hoards of mindless enemys. The Assult on Dark Athena game is split into two seperate areas. first area is where you begin the game onboard a mercenaries spaceship after it captures your ship while drifting in space. (what are the odds?) As you make you way through the ship you encounter a group of prisioners within a holding bay that you are forced to help. There is somekind of past story line with the ships hellbent chick captian Rivas. Your plan is simple just escape like in butcher bay. but unlike butcher bay which prey heavily on stealth throughout the game about half way throught the first area it turns into a run and gun platformer game that wouldnt even be worth more than a weekend rental. The only thing that slightly saved the game was the second area. Its a planet riddick crash lands on after escape the athena. Compared to the first area which is a dark murky spaceship this area is a well-lit outdoor beach haven with somekind of factory/castle structure you must infaltrate. I found this part the best section of the game climbing/hanging/scaling ledges and taking out unsupecting guards. but once inside the fortess it was back to the old grime of run and gun killing.

Moreover the games seemed short and distant cry from what the orginal had to offer. I completed the game with about 7 hours on normal difficulty. There was few random side missions and collected item i neglected to find or complete cuz they only granted you production art and photos. The Graphics are first rate and vin diesel voice dialoge keeps the player involve in riddicks character. I didnt get a chance to play the multiplyer section of the game but if it was anything like the single player game movement and weapon selection it wouldnt be anything all that great. The Game had such potential with awesome stealth kills and shadow vision but changing game style and bland gameplay in area's dont give the game much lasting appeal. I'm sad to see it didnt become one of the more popular stealth combat games.

It is no wonder that this game got such great reviews. I could not put it down. Constant action, the story line is great, oh and the same Riddick attitude from the movies. Whats not to like?

Chronicles of riddick:Assault on Dark Athena is one hot game, I bought it about a month ago and I almost have it beat. Now I'm no big time gamer I just like to kick back and play some cool games. I really like it because Vin Desel is in it, I love his voice. But I also like that you get to sneak around and kill people. What I don't like is that it is alot like Butcher Bay but then again I think they wanted it like that, I don't know what the co-op is like because I don't have x-box live.

The game was cheap worth every penny I paid. The shipping was really fast. It reached me in just 2 days. Awesome packing and service. The game is one of my most wanted in 2009 and it was absolutely delivered in every way. Dark Athena has could has the potential to be better. But its worth playing.

As a fan of this series, I was thrilled to read that there was a PS3 Riddick game in the works. I had played Escape from Butcher Bay on the original Xbox a few years back and loved it.

After reading about the newest chapter of the saga, I discovered that Assault on Dark Athena actually includes a reworked version of the first game AND a new game. Both look terrific in 1080p. I can't believe how amazing a game designed in 2004 looks in 2009--as far as games go, this is monumental! The game play still makes brilliant use of light and shadow.

PS3 gameplay includes trophy support and a sweet multiplayer "Pitch Black" mode.

Riddick fans will love this game. Everyone just might find themselves becomming fans after this game.
