Christy - A New Beginning (DVD, 2001)

It is the end of the series with this movie. I still miss the original actors.
It is a nice family collection to have these days. I just read somewhere that the Christy series are the adventures of the author's mother.

Of all the Christy Series this was my favorite. I really enjoyed the 19 volume made for TV set so I was glad to get these three movies. A New Beginning was a surprise to say the least. It did not end the way I thought it would but oh, what an ending!

I am very pleased that this film was made to finish the "Christy" series. This is the last film of three that were made in 2000 & 2001 by an independent company, that took over where the CBS TV series left off. Unfortunately, a lot of the original actors did not return, but I was pleased to see a few main ones did such as the ones who play Dr. MacNeill & Birdseye Taylor. (There are others.) The lady who plays Christy in these three films is very good and I personally like her performance better than Kelly Martin. This film is the second part to the one before it, which is called "Change of Seasons." The events in these last two films are based more on events in the actual Christy novel, which fans of the book will appreciate.

I believe I could honestly say that this is the BEST and most HEARTWARMING film that I've ever seen!

I was disappointed that Kelly Martin was not in this movie. There does not seem to be the same feeling between this Christy and Neil. There was such a dynamic relationship between Kelly and Neil. What a shame Kelly could not have remained in the leading position. The video was of good quality.

I love the Christy series and this movie sucked. they changed everyone out except the doctor and Opal. The acting was hideous. The plot would have been better had the original actors been in their spots. maybe it was a different director for these movies but you could sure tell they tried too hard and without much success. yuck ;p

Love the movie, and the price you can't beat! My 8 year old daughter absolutely loves it and it is a good clean family movie.
