This DVD series is wonderful for those who are tired of the movies that are full of violence, sex and bad language. I found it to be refreshing to watch and not have to worry about my child seeing things that are inappropriate for her. I loved the narration and character development of the story and was asking for more by the time I watched the last episode. It was accurate in its portrayal of the "mountain" people and their superstitions and their "not taking to outsiders". Christy's fight to gain their respect, teach their children, and find romance is worth watching again and again. I decided to purchase this series because I wanted a movie that portrayed wholesome qualities while being entertaining...a combination that is a true rarity in this day and age! I love this complete series of Christy staring Kellie Martin and Tyne Daly. 19 year old Christy Huddleston leaves her secure affluent home in North Carolina and moves to the rural Smokey Mountains of Tennesee to teach school to the children at a Christin Mission. This is the complete series aired on TV from 1994-1995. This series has drama, morals and lots of heartfelt episodes to make you laugh and cry.
