Christmas with the Kranks (2005)
If I keep renting movies this bad, the fast-forward button on my remote will be worn out in no time. Kranks is one of the worst holiday movies EVER MADE!!! And that's not saying much!
If you're a Tim Allen fan or a Jamie Lee Curtis fan you might enjoy this movie, but chances are you'll find it just as unfunny and downright ridiculous as I did.
Have you seen the preview for this movie? If you have, you'll have already seen every single funny moment this movie has to offer.
On the plus side, this movie does teach you a valuable lesson about christmas, but so does How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which is a movie you can actually site through without wanting to pull out your eyeballs.

Hey wow! Tim Allen & Jamie Lee Curtis. Two Great actors! This has got to be good!
Well, Jamie Lee Curtis is usually bold, outgoing, and does extremely well fitting into her roles. In this movie, she's a insecure house wife who hides away(hides her god given talent too). She reminded me of Goofy with the way she laughed. It just wasn't the Jamie everyone knows. Tim Allen. His funny Tanned/Botox injection scene was shortly lived, and might I add pretty much the only funny scene of his in the movie other than him dangling from the roof by a rope. He plays a guy who thinks only of himself, and in the very end changes into Mr. Nice Guy. (I was hoping for, but He didn't do his 'Oh oh oh' thing, like he does in Home Improvment)
Hey, the frozen cat on the icey sidewalk was pretty funny! Poor cat from across the road always gets its tail stepped on for being in their driveway.
I only rate it average because it took so long to work up to the funny parts. What you seen in previews... Those are almost all the funny parts. Granted-It was okay in my opinion, and it came out pretty much the appropriate time of the year, but I was fairly disappointed. I expected more.

I think this movie was very good. It showed a different look for Jamie Lee. It showed she also can be someone different. It is funny and the show shows what the true meaning of christmas really is. So it has two sides. I think you can relate to many things like not wanting to celebrate a Holiday without your loved one. This movie is worth watching. I think you can pick up more the second time and I am ready to watch it again.

This is a funny movie, but I dont think it will live up to be a classic like Christmas Story or National Lampoon's Christmas vacation.
It has it's funny moments and it has it's boring moments. We love the cat being frozen & Jaime Lee hiding from the neighbors. There are some moments that you just want to have hurry along so you can get to another good scene.
All in all, it's fun to watch, but it won't ever be like one of those movies that you watch over and over.

Love both Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis, both of them are great actors. The movie was okey, they surely both have better movies than this one. Some scenes were extremely funny (like the frozen cat!), but there are some scenes in the mvoie where you feel a little huh? But overall, its a great family movie to watch this holidays and feel the Spirit of Christmas. It made me laugh. Lessons can be learn too...find out for yourself

very funny holiday movie. it was not so much made up funny stuff, if you think , it is adventures that happen to ordinary people everday. i would even enjoy watching this movie on the 4th of july. My Mother gave me the book and i haven't found time to read so I bought the movie , I would recommend to all.

I really LOVED Christmas with the Kranks. I think everyone would sometimes like to be able to just do something different for "Christmas." And that is just what the Kranks had in mind. They wanted to go away for a vacation and just wanted to "skip" Christmas. Wonderful Comedy!!! If you haven't seen it yet, you've really missed a good laugh.

We bought this movie for when our nieces and nephews visit over the Holidays. It's a movie that the entire family can enjoy. The book is better than the movie (as always) but the movie is still worth the time.

I was very disappointed by this movie after reading the book. It barely resembles the book in any manner and misses the comedic mark almost entirely. You will get some brief points of laughter, but mostly you suffer in a movie that could have been very funny and instead tries to be National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and is really just a bunch of bad and pointless slapstick comedy. Do yourself a favor and read the book to see what you missed or get National Lampoon's for a funny Christmas movie.

I read "Skipping Christmas" and the movie certainly lived up to the book. I couldn't put the book down and rarely do I laugh out loud when I read but I sure did at this one! I really enjoyed the funny parts in the movie such as that poor cat!

I was never crazy about the movie but my wife was, so I bought the CD on a special E-Bay offer. It's a cute movie and it was priced chearer than I could rent it, so it all made sense. Every now and then you try and do something nice for your spouse and every now and then it works out. This was one of those times that it worked out well. It was worth the money.

A great Variety of EntertainmentI have to say the variety of entertainment is pretty great. It has comedy, little drama with the theif, action, and even some very touching moments. It covers alot of things we all have considered or will consider regarding Christmas in our lives. Tim Allen and Jamie Curtis act pretty good together. They could have picked a better actress as the daughter in my opinion. The big names such as Dan Akroyd, Cheech and a few others made this a movie to enjoy around the holidays or anytime of the year.
