Christmas Portrait by Carpenters (The) (CD, Oct-1990, A&M Records USA)

I had the vinyl album years ago, so already knew that this is one superb Christmas music collection. The Carpenters sing well; what more can one say? If you can get this for your Christmas collection, don't pass it up.

I never received this item and Pay Pal was no help in getting a refund. Have always enjoyed the Carpenters but will never know since we'll not be able to hear the CD.

Haven't really had a chance to listen to it as I was planning on listening to it around Christmas to help put me in the spirit. Karen Carpenter had one of the best voices I have encountered in my lifetime.

Price was the factor that I bought this item for. The Christmas CD's are not in the stores yet. What I disliked about it was one of the tracks were scratched. Would I have purchased it if I knew it was scratched. No!

Carpenter's CD's getting hard to find, especially the Christmas ones. The item was price very fairly and is in good shape. I was happy to be able to get it.

I bought it becaue my wife loves oldies music, and the carpenters is one of her favorite groups. She always gets excited when their christmas songs come on the radio, so I had to buy her the CD.

I ordered this the 2nd week of December and thought maybe I'd get a few days use out of it before Christmas. But, I received it in a couple days and got a few weeks use. Very easy purchase and quick shipping. It arrived in excellent condition and we got a lot of use out of it.

I bought the CD for one cut, and discovered it wasn't on this compilation. I still am searching for a very slow version of Santa Claus Is Coming To Town that was on an album the Carpenters did in the early to mid 1970's.

The collection is a pleasant listen. I slipped it in the car CD player while making a 150-mile drive at Christmastime and it helped pass the time quite nicely.

The version of "White Christmas" is especially noteworthy because it includes the rarely hear first verse that Irvin Berlin penned in sunny Los Angeles nearly 70-years back.

I'd recommend the album to anyone who like's Christmas music as it used to be sung.

This album is a classic. Karen Carpenter's voice is so smooth. I had a longing to hear it again, as I used to own the LP, but when I went to look for it it was gone. So I bought it on CD. You will never regret purchasing this album, Richard Carpenter is also excellent in his musical arrangements.

I love the Carpenters! I bought it to replace the cassette I had. One of my favorite Christmas CD's. So happy it was available.

I have always liked the Carpenters and this CD is the best they did such a great job on all the Christmas songs just a wonderful CD to play around the Holiday's

I have Christmas with the Carpenters (TimeLife) on cassettes, and wanted the same on a CD. This was the closest I could find, content-wise.

Karen's vocals are amazing-it goes without saying. The instrumentals are brilliant. Richard truly shines in this CD. Buy it-You'll love it.

I bought The Carpenters Christmas Portrait CD recently as I heard one of the songs playing on the radio. I've always been a Carpenters fan and had forgotten about this Christmas CD. Most of the songs are familiar and the arrangements are spectacular. I particularly like Karen Carpenter's tone of voice and range which are frequently featured on this CD.

I wanted to play some Christmas music for the kids on my school bus and was a little unsure how they would accept it. No worry, they loved it and that is all we played for two weeks with no compaints..What a great compliment to the great sound the Carpenters gave us.

We were extremely happy with this CD. I bought it for a Christmas gift for my husband. We have truly enjoyed it this Holiday season. It came in just a few days of ordering it and was in GREAT condition.

I already have this CD. I bought this one for my mom. The songs are wonderful. Anyone would appreciate this CD.

I long have had the vinyl LP in my record collection. This duo had it all. Karens` voice is just liquid gold and it still distresses me to hear her sing knowing how her life, and recording career was so tragically cut short.
This CD has been put together with great care and musical know-how and it is absolute quality from start to finish. I defy anyone to tell me that they can listen to this CD and not be moved by its beauty.
