Christmas Pins Past and Present by Jill Gallina (2003, Paperback)

This wonderful book picks up where Christmas Tree Pins O Christmas Tree by Nancy Trunker Trowbridge leaves off. Christmas Pins Past & Present doesn't limit itself to just trees, but includes snowmen, wreaths, santas, reindeer and every other holiday themed pin imagineable.

It has 139 pages chock full of full color photographs. The pictures are large, clear and easy to see. They were taken on a variety of colored backgrounds, which works well, but I typically prefer a white background in jewelry books.

The pins are arranged in the book by signed, unsigned and various themes. I was pleased to see the unsigned pin section, because so many beautiful Christmas pins were never marked. I was pleasantly surprised to find several of the pins in my collection in this book.

The prices appear to be fairly accurate, and not too inflated as book prices tend to be.

If you can only afford one Christmas pin book, get Christmas Tree Pins O Christmas Tree. But, if you can afford a second holiday jewelry book, I give Christmas Pins Past & Present 5 Suns Up. :-)

I bought the book as I like bling, especially Christmas jewelry and I wanted help in being more selective in my purchases. I am very satisfied with the book as the colored photos are lovely and retail prices given are probably right on target. Overall I am satisfied with this book.
