A Christmas Carol (DVD, 1999)

There are many versions of A Christmas Carol. This one with George C. Scott has to be my favorite. He comes across as a gruff old miser and actually seems as mean as Dickens wrote. Of course the change uplifts everyone. I watch this at least twice eaach December, once to get into the holiday mood early on, then on Christmas Eve.

Buy it! It's great!

The first time I watched this was because I make an effort to watch every version of A Christmas Carol. I was very skeptical that George C. Scott could be a convincing Scrooge. I was pleasantly surprised to at how good this version is. Scott does an excellent job of portraying Scrooge and the rest of the cast is equally good.

Add this to your collection, you won't be disappointed.

My favorite Christmas movie! Have seen most of the different productions of the movie and this one by far is the best. George C. Scott is fabulous!! I watched it at least 20 times during the month of December. You will love it!

I like to watch it even if it's not Christmas, so I bought It so I could just that. Now I can watch it any time.

This is my all time favorite movie. I own every copy made. It is a tradition at my house every year to watch this. Christmas would not be the same.

I have always liked this movie and i love it is about christmas time . not dislike. Because i just had to have this movie.

This is one of the movies that I love to watch at Christmas. Doesn't seem like Christmas without it.

The characters in this version ring true to the story. I am one of the few of my family and friends who like Charles Dickens. George C. Scott plays Scrooge well and do the other characters. I had taped it years ago, but had worn out the tape. Thanks for having this version available. I wish my VCR tape of Oliver Twist had been as successful. It won't track on my machine. This is my favorite Scrooge, I got it just in time for Christmas my daughter
and I have made a tradition of watching it every Christmas.

George C. Scott does a super job as scrooge. At times with his gruff voice, he's almost scary but at the end he makes you want to jump up and cheer!!!

Went to the play at the Denver Prefoming arts in Denver Colorado enjoyed the program so much that I wanted to see the movie and ended up not only owning this version with George C. Scott, but the original with Alastair Sim. What a great movie

This is a touching movie that I like to watch each year the days before Christmass. George C Scott delivers a great interpretation of Scrooge and brings him to life like no one else I've seen. There are many touching moments that are going to get you whether you like it or not. The decor is representative of the period and the music is most appropriate, joyfull and sad at the same time. This movie will remind you that Christmass may come once a year but your life will be more swatisfying if you carry it trough the year.

DVD arrived in great shape. I'm very happy with it.The product is in perfect shape and it completes my collection ofr christmas videos.

In My opinion it is the best Christmas Carol rendition there is. George C. Scott does and excellent job portraying Ebenezer Scrooge. You will find that you enjoy this classic every Christmas season.

An old movie about Christmas that I saw in my childhood, but not so often recently. My 14-year-old daughter never saw it before, so I decided to get my own copy. It arrived within a few days of the order, in perfect condition, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommend this movie for any Scrooges in your Christmas seasons future.

This is one of my favorite productions of A Christmas Carol. George C. Scott is magnificent in the role of Scrooge. The emotions felt throughout this movie run from sad to very droll and humorous to frightening. Well cast, with the exception of one scene when Susannah York as Mrs. Cratchit mourns the loss of her son, Tiny Tim. Ms. York seems as though she is reading her lines from cue cards without any real emotion. This one scene does not detract from the overall performances, however.
A timely, seasonal story. I'm happy to finally have it in my collection.

Just a great classic done by a great actor. George C Scott was a great human due to his convictions and he stood by them to the end.

Being the superlative actor that he is, George C. Scott does not disappoint in this wonderful version. He plays the part with intelligence and wit. Next to Albert Finney's musical version, this is my favorite.

I have several Scrooge movies.all differnet but the same.I like to watch them all to see the differences in them and see which ones I like best.

Dvd in good condition. I think that George C. Scott did the best version
of this classic. I will enjoy it anytime I like now not just at Christmas

The costumes are closely matched and the performance of George C. Scott was very convincing!

I LOVED IT!

We had looked for this DVD at many retailers and were unable to find it. On eBay, we found it at a very reasonable price. Also, it was delivered very quickly. It's great to have a place where one can find things they really want.

I love the movie in this Christmas Season. I have all the Christmas Carol movies that have been made.
