Movie Description
Ebeneezer Scrooge (Alastair Sim) contentedly meanders through his life as a cruel miser until one fateful Christmas Eve when he is visited by three ghosts. The spirits show him how his behavior has degenerated over the years as his heart has become colder. Using events from Scrooge's idealistic past, dreary present, and dismal future, the apparitions try their best to melt his steely soul. This 50th anniversary edition is digitally re-mastered form the original black and white version.

    This DVD is the 50th anniversary edition of one of the better version of the film based upon Dickens' famous Yuletide novel. Alastair Sim plays the lead as Scrooge. There is good reason to own this rendition because it is a digitally remastered format of the original B & W film version. The supporting cast is marvelous including: Hermione Baddeley, Kathleen Harrison & Jack Warner!

    Of course, since this is an anniversary edition there are special features. 1st the single disc is double-sided. The audio is Dolby Digital & the language is English.

    Patrick MacNee provides a narrative introduction.
    There is a cartoon featurette: "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"
    Biographies of the actors are included~
