Amy Grant A Christmas Album My All Time Favorite

On a scale out of 1/5 I give this CD a 10. Seriously this is my all time favorite Christmas CD, if not my favorite CD of any kind. Since it was originally released in 1983 it is well on it's way already to becoming a classic. I think I wore out 3 or 4 cassette tapes before I purchased the CD. Cd contains a mix of traditional Christmas songs as well as Amy's originals. Traditional songs include Hark The Herald Angels, Little Town of Bethlehem, and a medley of A Mighty Fortress & Angels We Have Heard on High. We always begin the holiday season out by playing this on Thanksgiving. My girls(now grown) use candles, drumsticks or whatever they can find for "pretend" microphones & sing along with Amy on her wonderful rendition of The Sleigh Ride song & The Christmas Song. (Chestnuts) Amy's songs include The Christmas Hymm & the beautiful song Tennessee Christmas. Michael W. Smith wrote both the words & music to the stirring song Emmanuel. He also accompanies Grant on piano on a number of the songs. He has since become quite a star in his own right. This CD is a must for any Christmas music collection. Fabulous gift too!
