The Christmas Album by Neil Diamond (CD, Sep-2001, Columbia USA)

This collection of Christmas songs is one of the better blends of traditional and non traditional songs. Traditional songs on this CD include "Silent Night" and "White Christmas." Some of the more non traditional songs on this CD include "You Make it Feel Like Christmas" and my favorite song on this CD, "Happy Christmas (War is Over)."

This album is light hearted and fun. At first you think, "Neil Diamond singing Christmas music...he's Jewish." Yeah, he is. But, He enjoys it hear with a mix of serious (Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel/We Three Kings, Drummer Bosy Morning Has Broken, Gos Rest Ye Merry Gentleman, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, and Oh Holy Night) and fun (a sassy version of Jingle Bell Rock, Siler Bells, The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting...) and his take on Bruce Springsteen's "Santa Clause is Coming to Town." The sweetest gift on this album is his own song called "You Make Me Feel Like Christmas." (all year long!) Played along with his second album "The Christmas Album volume 2" and his new "Cherry, Cherry Christmas", you will have the perfect music for the fireplace or a crowd of people. Neil delivers great music on this one!

This is an awesome Christmas set by Neil. He out done himself on this one. I'm very impressed. Keep up the good work Neil. I loved you for many years.

Amazing mix of classic songs played by Neil Diamond. Makes a beautiful sound to play in the background. If you are looking for the perfect Christmas gift, this could be the item.

Love the CD, just took too long to get to me...would have like to have had it in time to give as a late Christmas gift. Still, I have it now and it will make a great gift this year.

What can you say about Neil Diamond music except it's GREAT. Anyone that wants to give away his music or stuff just sent it to me ( in good condition ).

The only thing wrong with this CD is that I hadn't known about it earlier. Neil's voice has not changed since I saw him live in 1991 in Oakland, CA. It's a joy to know that artists like him are still letting us bask in the melodies that they perform.

Neil Diamond is one of my favorite singers. I once had this project on cassette tape but wanted the CD so much to play while driving during the Christmas season. I couldn't find it in the store so I decided to check ebay and found it right away. I was able to buy it then and enjoyed it so much. I even played it after Christmas too. Thanks for having what I was looking for.
