I read this book many years ago when it 1st came out. First, let me say....her recipes in each and every book are worth the buy!
In this 1st novel cozy, Hannah Swenson, who owns The Cookie Jar, in Lake Eden, Minnesota, has her hands full because her mother is trying hard to marry her off. You'll find this theme on-going in all her books. The murder begins with Hannah finding Ron LaSalle, the beloved delivery man from the Cozy Cow Dairy dead....from what she believes to be her Chocolate Chip Crunchies! Determined not to let her cookies get a bad reputation and ruin her business she sets out to track the killer. Suspects include the high school football coach who's wife has been seen riding around with Ron in his truck. Another suspect, Max Turner, who owns the Cozy Cow, had some secrets he didn't want to share with his top employee. The more Hannah snoops, the more suspects she has to deal with. On top of that, Lake Eden's prominent prodigal son, Benton Woodley has just come back into town. There's also a mysterious Mr. Harris who wants to buy the dairy, but then disappears! Hannah has to watch her step or get burned to a crisp by the killer.
If you have read one or all of Ms. Flukes books you know they are fun, easy cozies. Don't look for any hard core stuff here....you just won't find it Just "sweet" stuff that makes for a good read and continues with each book like a soap opera you can't stop watching.
